The Role

Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Risk and Opportunity Manager to spearhead the development of the Department of the Air Force (DAF) Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Program. This pivotal role involves crafting tailored transformation strategies, refining processes, and implementing bespoke solutions. The successful candidate will play a crucial part in elevating the ERM Program to an Optimized/Predictive State, as defined by Level 5 on the OIG Risk Maturity Model.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct risk analysis, planning, and documentation to advance the DAF ERM program.
  • Collaborate with SAF/MG (Performance Management Accountable Official) to transform and integrate risk management practices across the DAF.
  • Develop and deliver transformational concepts, analysis products, and planning recommendations.
  • Establish and maintain a standardized approach for managing Operational Materiel Weaknesses (OMWs), Significant Deficiencies (SDs), and Capability Development (CDs).
  • Enhance decision-making through data-driven reporting and the development of advanced dashboards.
  • Formulate a communications strategy that includes stakeholder engagement and crisis management support for ERM and OMW initiatives.
  • Assess current Risk Management Capabilities (RMC) and implement standardized risk identification and assessment tools.
  • Design and deliver training on RM principles as outlined in Air Force Instruction (AFI) 90-802, Risk Management, to deliver Comprehensive Training Programs.
  • Implement processes for documenting and reporting risk responses to deliver Audit-Ready Documentation and Reporting Processes.
  • Utilize tools like ServiceNow’s GRC module for real-time monitoring and reporting to deliver Automated Tools for Continuous Monitoring.
  • Implement tailored strategies based on the maturity assessment to consistently apply RM principles.
  • Provide comprehensive training and change management support to ease the transition to new RM practices.

Experience Requirements:

Mandatory:

  • 8 Years of Experience
  • Proven experience in risk management and strategic planning within a large organization or government entity.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to develop comprehensive solutions for complex challenges.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with a track record of stakeholder engagement and team collaboration.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of Air Force Pamphlet (AFPAM) 90-803, Risk Management (RM) Guidelines and Tools
  • Knowledge of Air Force Instruction (AFI) 90-802, Risk Management
  • Utilize tools like ServiceNow’s GRC module for real-time monitoring and reporting
