About the Role:
Lyra is looking for a Senior Revenue Accountant to join our team. This position will participate in all aspects of the revenue accounting function to support cross-functional teams such as Sales, GTM, Products FP&A and Legal with proper accounting guidance, assist with revenue accounting close activities in compliance with ASC 606 and the revenue recognition policy and maintain an effective internal control environment. This is an opportunity to play a key role in implementing changes and automations.
This role can be carried out from our Burlingame, CA headquarters, hybrid, or fully remote/virtually. Remote candidates must be physically located within the United States.
Responsibilities
- Contract Review and Accounting Compliance (ASC 606): Analyze fully executed customer contracts to determine the appropriate accounting treatment and identify issues, ensuring all revenue is recognized in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (ASC 606).
- Technical Guidance and Support: Review draft customer contracts and offer revenue accounting guidance to Legal and Sales teams as needed.
- Documentation and Research: Prepare supporting revenue accounting documentation, such as checklists and position papers, and assist with technical research on complex revenue accounting matters.
- Valuation Assistance: Support Fair Value (SSP) analyses based on historical sales transactions.
- Month/Quarter-End Close: Execute monthly and quarterly close activities, including revenue review, preparing journal entries and accruals, and performing account reconciliations and analysis.
- Audit Support: Assist with the annual audit and quarterly reviews by providing external auditors with necessary documentation for tested revenue transactions.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Revenue Accounting.
- Public Accounting experience preferred.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills required for regular and frequent interaction with sales and legal personnel, senior management, and outside auditors.
- Strong Microsoft Excel/Google Sheet skills
- SQL proficiency a plus
- ERP financial systems experience, preferred: SFDC, NetSuite, Zuora
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- CPA certification preferred
