Sr Revenue Accountant

About the Role
As the Senior Revenue Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring that revenue is recognized correctly by overseeing and managing the day-to-day revenue accounting operations, including reviewing contracts, arrangements, modifications and terminations for proper treatment under US GAAP and ASC 606. You will also play a pivotal role in building processes and improvements to create efficiencies that align with the company's overall strategic objectives and growth.
Location - We are flexible on remote working from home, if you are located in the USA and in one of the following states - TX, FL, CA, NC, GA, CT, ME, KS, CO, NJ or VA. We have physical offices in Austin, TX and Tampa, FL, if you prefer a hybrid option.
What You'll be Doing
• Review revenue related arrangements to ensure proper revenue operation in accordance with company policy and revenue recognition accounting standards
• Review customer contracts and billings for non-standard terms, multiple elements, and to ensure that revenue has been recognized in accordance with US GAAP
• Manage monthly revenue accounting close efforts, including contract analysis, preparation/review of monthly revenue, and deferred revenue reconciliations, AR reconciliations, posting journal entries including any adjustments/corrections to posted revenue
• Manage 3rd party contracts and reconciliations to revenue
• Develop, implement and maintain desktop procedures for on-going revenue accounting activities
• Update and maintain the company's revenue recognition policy as business processes evolve and accounting standards change
• Monitor, recommend, and implement improvements to current methodologies & practices.
• Assist in the quarterly and year-end audit process
• Prepare journal entries
• Lead/participate in special projects as needed.
• Other duties as needed.
About You
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
• CPA Preferred, Big 4 experience preferred.
• 3-5+ years' experiencey experience with Revenue/AR/Billing in a fast paced SaaS company.
• In-depth knowledge of revenue recognition standards (ASC 606).
• Detail-oriented with strong project management and organizational skills, with a willingness to roll up your sleeves and delve deep into processes and systems.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, and SOX
• Experience with NetSuite required experience with SuiteBilling is a plus.
