About the Role
This position will be responsible for developing and refining the robotics SW, especially perception technologies, with a primary focus on utilizing Lidar. The main responsibilities of the position will include, but not limited to,

  1. Develop and Optimize Lidar-Based Perception Systems:


Design, implement, and refine algorithms for Lidar-based perception to detect objects and ensure precise positioning in a dynamic environment

  1. Developing advanced algorithms for path planning, mapping, and navigation using the C/C++ programming language with real-time processing and performance optimization.
  2. Testing and Validation:


Conduct testing and validation of perception algorithms in simulated and real-world environment
Analyze data to identify and rectify any discrepancies or inaccuracies
The Research Engineer will plan execute and coordinate New Mobility programs for/with internal and external departments, (supplier) companies, institutions and academia.
Your Responsibilities

  • Evaluation of technologies and product designs with compliance to scientific principles, engineering principles, company standards, customer requirements and related specifications
  • Support the development of innovative components and modules from the initial concept phase through the complete development process including design engineering, validation, prototyping, testing, and evaluation of the proposed production capable process and business case
  • Design and conduct research programs; applying theory and principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, electronics, heat transfer and materials
  • Contribute to team effort by providing innovative ideas for products and processes and by sharing new information with other team members
  • Support the ideation process while identifying gaps in the current product or manufacturing technology to guide and provide future R&D efforts
  • Analyze engineering results and propose product changes to determine feasibility, improvement of components and systems and functional/performance specification


Who we are looking for

  • Experience with Lidar technology and its application in robotic perception & localization
  • Strong background in algorithm development, particularly in Object detection, object tracking, SLAM, Kalman-filter, odometry, or related areas
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C++ or Python
  • Deep understanding with robotics software frameworks, especially ROS for developing and testing robotic applications.
  • Practical experience in developing algorithms for robotics applications, including but not limited to object detection, tracking, path planning, mapping, localization, and navigation.
  • Strong knowledge of communication protocols relevant to robotics and embedded systems, including DDS, Ethernet, and CAN.


Your preferred qualifications

  • Master's or higher degree in Engineering including but not limited to: Computer Science, Robotics, or related field.
  • Preferred experience with object detection, graph SLAM, LIO-SAM, GTSAM, Move_base, AprilTag, and ROS
  • Preferred experience various sensor technologies, such as LIDAR, IMU, and cameras
