Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage quality business metrics for across EW programs. Partner with EW Quality Leaders, CTHs, and team to provide support to Supplier Quality Engineers (SQEs), Suppliers, Shop Quality Engineers, and Shops to drive metric improvements. Mentors and facilitates Team Members for emerging QEMs, and other aspects of Supplier and Shop Quality team’s roles.
- Utilize problem solving tools to develop and manage action plans to meet key metrics.
- Support complex NPI and Production issues by leading coordination of resources, preparing communications, creating and closing action items.
- Developing specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in own job discipline or field. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest functional developments in own area. Works directly with EW Quality leader to implement and execute strategy and policy development to ensure mission success within area of responsibility.
- Skilled influencer, able to communicate complex messages to others. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing skills required to influence others on topics within field.
- Impacts approaches, projects and programs within EW organization and standard work creation. Impacts quality, efficiency and effectiveness within own team. These jobs have significant input into their priorities. Jobs at this level tend to be covered by professional practices and policies but these are shaped by the role. Working within broad guidelines and policies, roles at this level have moderate autonomy, requiring high levels of evaluative judgment.
- Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems that impact the function. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
- Has knowledge of Edison Works and GE Aerospace quality and supply chain processes. Can advise shops and suppliers on corrective actions to solve process problems. Can assess corrective actions for ability to permanently solve issues.
- Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems that impact the function. Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations. Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
- Role may require occasional travel. Travel can be 5-10% at times.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college or university ( or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of Quality, Sourcing, Manufacturing and/or Operations experience) + Minimum of 5 years of Quality, Sourcing, Manufacturing and/or Operations experience

Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
