The Role

The Senior Quality Engineer will provide technical analysis of processes that are involved in the development of products and the manufacturing of products in order to ensure that products developed and manufactured are consistent and meets specifications. Help and support such activities ensuring that applicable standards and procedures are followed. Mentor and train junior level Quality Engineers. Support Corrective and Preventive actions and ensure that Root Cause Investigations are performed using appropriate Quality Tools. Support Manufacturing processes and ensure that validation activities are well documented and performed.

Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  • Identify and evaluate new and existing suppliers for ability to meet product quality and quality management system requirements through product and system audits (requires monthly travel)
  • Evaluation of suppliers for ability to meet product quality management system requirements through product and system audits
  • Evaluates supplier performance and quality and facilitates Quality Review Boards with leadership team
  • Ensure audits compliance to the Cirrus quality system and requirements
  • Ensures successful relationships with supply, engineering, manufacturing, and regulatory departments
  • Coordinates root causes analysis and implements corrective actions to improve product quality
  • Provide team support to manufacturing engineering and supply chain groups
  • Assist with supplier first article inspections
  • Establish internal quality metrics, reports, and develops actions plans

  • Knowledgeable in the use of various problem-solving and quality engineering methodologies such as process mapping, Failure Modes, and Effects Analysis, statistical techniques such as Analysis of Variance, Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility, and Process Capability Studies
  • Quality Engineers use the principle statistics, calculus, trigonometry, and other advanced topics in mathematics for analysis, design, and troubleshooting in their work
  • Skilled knowledge in Database Software; Design software, Manufacturing software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software
  • Experience capability in coordinating between diverse group of individuals including engineering, supply chain, purchasing, operators/technicians, and management
  • Be able to clearly communicate problem statements, root cause analysis and corrective action solutions to stakeholders
  • Describe continuous improvement tools, including lean, six sigma, theory of constraints, statistical process control (SPC), and total quality management, and understand how modern quality has evolved from quality control through statistical process control (SPC) to total quality management and leadership principles
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in a STEM discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • 4 years Quality System Experience or Engineering Experience preferred OR 2 years with a Graduate degree preferred.
