Sr. Quality Engineer

Job Description:
Responsible for supporting quality system management activities carried out by Quality & Reliability. Serve as an ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 lead auditor and coordinator for internal QMS audits and production parts audits, including pre- and post-audit activities. Vital Q&R department liaison to ATI global business units, OEMs and third-party auditors. This position utilizes industry experience combined with quality system knowledge to help develop, maintain and promote a robust quality management system infrastructure.

Support the ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 internal audit process, acting as a lead auditor, helping to establish the annual internal audit schedule, writing audit reports, issuing corrective actions and verifying effectiveness.

Conduct Production Parts Audits (PPA), acting as the lead auditor along with a UAW Quality Representative, establishing the annual audit schedule, and writing PPA reports.

Work with other functions, such as Marketing Sales and Service (MSS), Plant Quality and Product Engineering, to uphold customer satisfaction through:

Generating Part Submission Warrants (PSW) with supporting documentation for Customer Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) requests.

Coordinating OEM customer complaint resolution, which may include entering information into required customer databases, data collection, corrective action and verification follow up activities.

Support External Audit (customer and registrar) activities, which may include leading, hosting, doing pre-audit preparations, issuing corrective actions, verifying effectiveness and conducting post-audit follow up & communication activities.

Drive endeavours needed to address non-conformities per timeline, lending help and direction, as well as verifying effectiveness of corrective actions.

Assist with reviewing and updating Quality procedures, related documents and the Quality Manual.

Carry out quality metrics reporting for various leadership venues and other business activities by compiling metrics, such as OEM PPM or other data as requested by Management, and ensuring data consistency and integrity.

Become a subject matter expert (SME) for the Allison Transmission Quality Management System, applicable Quality standards interpretation, and application to ATI global business.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent with relevant coursework in Engineering, Business, or related
- IATF 16949 Lead Auditor certification preferred
- Automotive core tools training preferred
- 3+ years of Quality Systems or Supplier Quality experience in transportation related industry
- 7+ years of Quality Systems experience in transportation related industry preferred
- 3+ years of experience performing or managing quality audits, preferred
