We are looking for a Sr. Quality Engineer to join our team in one of today’s most exciting technologies. 

Location: This position will be based in ­­­­San Jose, CA.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Inspection, part qualification for mechanical components in compliance to print / specifications
  • Formal Change Management Process
  • Collecting, Consolidating and Analyzing Performance Data based upon inspections and part testing
  • Internal Metrics (‘Balanced Scorecard’) Development
  • Driving Continual Process Improvement

Technical Responsibilities

  • Provides specification compliance evaluation in support of Product Development
  • Develops, documents and continuously improves QC Inspection and Testing Standards
  • Develops and systematically analyzes statistical data to determine standards and to ensure product quality and reliability expectations
  • Works in close collaboration with Technical Development (R&D), Manufacturing, New Product Introduction (NPI), and Product Development (Engineering) to develop, conduct and manage QC inspection and/or testing as required
  • Participates in Supplier selection and evaluation. Works cross-functionally to establish quality requirements for external suppliers
  • Strong inspection background in mechanical parts along with experience of working with cables, electronics and knowledge of chemistry
  • They should be proficient in reading, understanding design prints, and conversion into defined inspection plans.
  • Familiar with GD&T to the level of being able to train / educate others on the print requirements

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Perform assessments at system and product level including PPAP, GR&R, GD&T.
  • Failure analysis capability to debug issues as they arise in equipment testing / set up

Skills and Experience:

  • BS, in one of the following: Mechanical Engineering,
  • Must be able to establish technical credibility with the Engineering Staff.
  • Minimum 2+ years of Quality / Inspection experience 
  • Sound interpersonal skills and strong ability to establish effective cross-functional working relationships; Ability to effectively participate on multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Databases.
  • Ability to prepare and effectively present formal reports to both internal and external suppliers / customers.
  • Highly customer-focused (both externally and internally).
  • Flexibility within a rapidly changing, dynamic working environment.
  • Demonstrated self-initiative and sound judgment on technical projects and improvement initiatives.
  • Possesses a bias for action and an ability to multitask.
