The Sr. Quality Engineer is primarily responsible for providing leadership & guidance in driving compliant quality systems, leading continual improvement projects that deliver customer- focused quality results with a comprehensive focus for positive communications with internal and/ or external customers.

What You Need to Know:

  • Develop and provide leadership to a team of quality professionals that delivers quality management system objectives, customer deliverable expectations and focuses on continual quality improvement
  • Effectively communicate quality vision, goals, and KPI reporting.
  • Function as an expert quality liaison to other functional departments, up to new product development processes & ensure all appropriate activities are conducted & documented.
  • Oversee training requirements for quality associates and technicians where needed.
  • Propose, design, implement, and enforce quality improvements.
  • Facilitate root cause investigations utilizing 8D methods for internal and external excursions and communicate results to management and customers.
  • Drive systematic process changes from deviations, complaints, warranty data, online reviews or other trends.
  • Support internal, customer and regulatory audits as appropriate
  • Make data driven decisions and strategies to improve quality.
  • Lead plant APQP and PPAP processes.
  • Contain & manage rework campaigns, internally & externally where needed.

What We Are Looking For:

  • BS degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5-7 years of operations experience in a manufacturing environment or related field.
  • ASQ certification CQE, CQM, Lean Manufacturing, CSSGB, and / or TPS philosophies & Kaizen methods required
  • Knowledge and experience with OSHA regulations, & workplace safety programs.
  • Project Management skills with emphasis on cross functional team development .
  • Strong working knowledge of GD&T methodology, competency in engineer drawing interpretation, spreadsheet analysis with advanced excel functions, presentation skills, and ability to use other MS Office programs.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 / Quality Management System and databases.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize resources and project timelines.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills coupled with the ability to maintain and generate product application literature, media, and technical articles.
  • Mechanical aptitude and mental/physical/visual acuity. Ability to analyze application requirements, provide failure, & cost analysis. Engineering discipline experience with a focus on mechanical, pneumatic, and/or fluid power systems. 2 & 4 Stroke engine, lawn & garden, powersports, appliance, automotive, electronic or battery theory / experience preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% domestic & international locations as required and work extended hours, including overtime & weekends as business needs require

Fluency in English is required (written & oral), other languages are preferred
