Job Purpose
The Sr. Project Manager will be responsible for the coordination and completion of projects of increased complexity, spanning multiple matrixed teams. They will oversee all aspects of projects including setting scope, organizing tasks, setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring/driving task completion. The position will require critical thinking and application of appropriate business logic to facilitate project efficiency. The Sr. Project Manager will prepare and deliver reports for upper management regarding status of projects and will support critical business strategies by managing the development and implementation of business initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for projects, including project planning, resource allocation, steering committee (if required) presentations.
- Ensures all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
- Coordinates and assists in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
- Able to serve as a Scrum Master for multiple Regional’s agile teams. Serve as a champion of Agile best practices.
- Able to serve as Project Manager for Infrastructure and Business projects as required, driving project methodology across diverse teams.
- Schedule and facilitate business requirements sessions for review and definition of business requirements as required.
- Develops a detailed project plan, monitors, and tracks project progress against plan.
- Coordinates with cross-functional resources to ensure resource availability and allocation.
- Measures project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Manages changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
- Performs comprehensive risk management to minimize project and operational risks.
- Reports and escalates to management in timely manner.
- Creates and maintains comprehensive project documentation to satisfy SOX compliance needs.
- Maintains the confidentiality of Regional Management customer strategies, plans, and other proprietary information.
- Communicates effectively to both business and technical stakeholders within the project team.
- Responsible for project communications.
- Manage project scope, risk, and issue resolution.
- Responsible for the quality of project deliverables.
- Other duties as assigned by leadership.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, management or related discipline and/or equivalent work experience.
- 7+ years experience in project management in the information technology sector, with recent successful large-scale project implementations.
- Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies.
- Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and organize work processes, manage priorities and meet commitments and deadlines; multi-task and manage time well.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Jira, MS Project, or other project management tool.
- Ability to easily comprehend new and complex business and technical concepts.
- Takes independent action to achieve goals; is self-directed and driving, but cooperates with others to share information, resolve issues and achieve goals.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current PMP (Project Management Professional) certification
- Agile Scrum Master certification (CSM) with proven experience performing the role
- Previous experience in consumer finance industry
- ITIL Foundation certification
- Change management experience on a large-scale engagement preferred
