We are searching for the best talent for Sr. Project Manager, Mission Control. This position will be located in Santa Clara, CA, however remote consideration will be given to exceptional talent.
Job Description:
The Project Manager, Mission Control will be a core member of the Indications Expansion team, responsible for overseeing the execution of clinical trials for new indications on the robotic system. This opportunity is within the Program Strategy & Execution (PS&E) organization. Project teams are located primarily in Santa Clara, CA.
The role will be accountable for developing end to end schedules and breaking them down into actionable quarterly objectives and key results (OKRs). The individual may work within a hybrid Agile project management framework to focus and drive the teams to achieve important short-term milestones that are critical to the success of the overall development plan and strategy. In collaboration with the cross-functional team, the Project Manager will drive risk management and mitigation plans which requires contingency planning, conflict resolution, and tradeoff assessments. Depending on the phase of the project, the Project Manager, Mission Control may need to travel to clinical sites to coordinate/support system installations and/or study start-up activities.
Another aspect of this role is building strong relationships with peers and cross-functional partners in a fast-paced environment. The individual needs to be willing to communicate decisions, strategies, and priorities while maintaining a culture of collaboration and end-to-end accountability for the successful execution of the clinical trial(s). With other team leaders the individual should create a positive team environment and a culture with a sense of urgency, driving toward improved team effectiveness and achievement.
Required Skills & Experience:
BS is required. Degree in engineering or related technical discipline is highly preferred.
Prior Project management experience of 5+ years is required, 7+ is preferred.
Prior experience in a regulated environment is required, and medical device experience is preferred.
Experience with clinicals trials is highly preferred.
Experience with managing schedules with project management tools such as MS Project or Smartsheet is required; experience with Agile methodology and Jira capabilities preferred.
Previous experience working in an engineering capacity or with an engineering project team is preferred.
Experience working with complex electromechanical systems is an asset.
Successful candidate must have proven track record of taking initiative with demonstrated ability to manage a complex Project in a fast-paced environment.
Candidate must demonstrate problem-solving skills, including instances where field-support might be needed.
Candidate must demonstrate ability to work collaboratively to align diverse stakeholders and lead teams and influence decision making without direct reporting authority is essential.
