Job Description
The primary purpose of the Senior IT Project Manager at Pilot is to lead, oversee and ensure the successful management and delivery of single or multiple complex IT projects (e.g., software development and implementation), and at times a program of related IT projects. Project factors such as scope, time, resources and cost may require skilled and dynamic change management to deliver value. The Senior IT Project Manager will also contribute to the growth and maturity of the enterprise IT project management practice.
- Lead complex IT projects through governance and gating processes from inception and prioritization through deployment and support.
- Initiate and lead sessions with business and IT stakeholders to define project scope and requirements. Ensure decisions and plans are documented thoroughly.
- Review contracts, proposals, requests, and data to determine timeframes, funding needs, and staffing requirements of available and unavailable business and IT resources for phases of the project.
- Create project artifacts including charters, resource plans, detailed project plans and phased schedules, budgets and status updates. Maintain these and ensure ongoing understanding and alignment of them across all stakeholders throughout the project.
- Connect and build relationships across the project team, the IT solutions owner, product owners, vendors, and IT shared services teams throughout the project to ensure work and interdependencies are planned for appropriately. Navigate and connect all internal IT departments to ensure work plans are understood and successful.
- Collaborate with business owners across various departments to uncover, define and understand business processes that may be impacted as well as business decisions needed to ensure a project’s success.
- Identify milestones and required activities and tasks. Ensure internal and external stakeholders understand these and deliver upon these through ongoing tracking and communication that you create and manage.
- Establish project governance including defining operating and/or steering committees as well as decision-making paths and expectations.
- Create, implement and deliver written and verbal project communication plans for various audiences, including from day-to-day project team collaboration to creating and presenting detailed status updates to executives or large stakeholder groups.
- Conduct risk assessments and either mitigate risks or manage and understand risk mitigation plans thoroughly. Ensure the right discussions and decision-making occurs.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and value objectives with the project sponsors, business leaders and other departments. Ensure that plans for measurement are in place.
- Ensure post-go-live and production support readiness is completed (e.g., coordinate end-to-end project cutover and deployment tasks, ensure creation of support transition documentation, plan for functional and user-acceptance testing and end-user training, and help establish organizational change management (OCM) plans).

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field (e.g., business management, information technology, computer science, project management, etc.) required
- Minimum five years’ IT project management experience required
- Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification preferred
- Project Management Institute Agile Certified Professional (PMI-ACP®) Certification preferred
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification preferred
- Certified Change Management ProfessionalTM (CCMPTM) or other organizational change management certification preferred
