The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading complex, cross functional initiatives that drive strategic, regulatory, operational, and client/colleague experience outcomes across Private Bank and Private Wealth. This role partners with business leaders in Private Bank & Private Wealth as well as across the CFG organization, technology, risk and operations to deliver projects that enhance client experience, improve internal capabilities, strengthen risk management, and support the business growth strategy. The role drives planning, execution, governance, and stakeholder alignment while applying project delivery practices and operating with significant autonomy. Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership & Execution
Lead end-to-end delivery of complex projects across business, operations, and risk functions.
Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
Define project scope, objectives, success criteria, and measurable outcomes aligned with business goals.
Manage project budgets, resource allocation, and project financials.
Identify risks, issues, and dependencies and implement mitigation strategies.
Convert strategic objectives into clear, actionable plans with defined milestones, deliverables, and success metrics.
Establish alignment on scope, roles, and accountability across stakeholders.
Lead end-to-end execution initiative project planning, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and to defined quality expectations.
Maintain rigorous control over plans, risks to delivery, issues, and dependencies.
Create and support project documentation, reporting, and compliance with governance standards.
Apply consistent project management practices across initiatives.
Coordinate with stakeholders, clients, and senior management to ensure project goals are met and expectations are aligned.
Stakeholder Management
Partner with senior leaders, product owners, and functional stakeholders to define project goals and priorities.
Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between business units, technology teams, and external partners.
Provide clear and consistent communication to stakeholders, including executive updates and status reporting.
Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment across multiple business areas.
Drive timely resolution of issues and escalate appropriately.
Communicate risks and tradeoffs in terms of business and financial impact.
Governance & Compliance
Ensure adherence to enterprise project governance standards, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.
Maintain project documentation including charters, risk logs, change requests, and decision logs.
Support regulatory, compliance, and audit requirements as they relate to project execution.
Translate delivery progress into clear, concise, executive-ready updates.
Support governance forums with actionable insights and decision points.
Strategic Program Delivery
Drive initiatives that support client experience improvements, operational efficiency, and new product capabilities.
Coordinate with program managers and leadership to ensure alignment with enterprise strategic priorities.
Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve delivery methodologies, and enhance project outcomes.
Partner with business leaders to reinforce new processes and ways of working.
Identify and mitigate adoption risks to ensure sustained outcome.
Maintain alignment on objectives, timelines, and accountability.
Leadership
Strong stakeholder management across executives, operations, technology, vendors, and frontline teams

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, risk, or related field.
5–10+ years of project management experience, preferably within banking, wealth management, or financial services.
Proven ability to manage complex cross-functional projects involving business and technology stakeholders.
Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid).
Experience managing project budgets, timelines, and risk mitigation.
Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Project Management Professional (PMP), Agile, Six Sigma or Scrum certification.
Experience with banking platforms, or financial technology initiatives.
Knowledge of regulatory frameworks impacting financial institutions.
Experience supporting client experience, banker experience, or operational transformation initiatives.
Proficiency in project management software, Gantt charts, and portfolio management tool

Pay Transparency
The salary range for this position is $123,000 - $159,000 per year, plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, and relevant skills and experience.
