Position OverviewThe Senior Project Manager, Procurement is responsible for managing all Procurement projects from project evaluation to project completion inclusive of any on going maintenance. This role will partner with the external and internal stakeholders in order to manage the workflow of all Procurement projects to ensure all project deadlines, deliverables, and KPIs are achieved. The Senior Project Manager, Procurement in this capacity will be expected to continuously enhance and evolve the Company's Project Management Methodology and develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.

Description

  • Develop schedules for project initiation, planning, control, and closeout. This includes but is not limited to developing project objectives, creating project plans, organizing all individuals involved, developing task and action lists to hold all parties accountable, and develop metrics (financial among others) to measure success.
  • Monitor, track, prepare and report on the status of efforts, anticipating, identifying and mitigating risks that inhibit the attainment of project goals; track and report on KPIs as well as develop SOPs and embrace Best Demonstrated Practices to enhance change management initiatives and drive consistency for project management approach across the organization and with our customers
  • Conduct review meetings and post-mortems discussions at the end of each project milestone and phase.
  • Effectively and consistently communicate work progress internally and, as applicable, externally throughout each project to senior leaders, stakeholders, and appropriate external contacts.
  • Partners with key internal and external stakeholders by attending business meetings to discuss and lead projects and key initiatives while represent the Procurement organization for large scale initiatives.

Skills

  • Specialized Knowledge : Advanced project management skills and knowledge of Agile methodologies. Demonstrated understanding of the wholesale and retail procurement supply chain
  • Special Skills : Strong multi-tasking, communication and organizational skills. Influencing and leadership skills required
  • Other: : Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, while identifying priorities, communicating progress and ensuring deadlines are met; Ability to work well with all levels of team members with different backgrounds and needs; Ability to adjust priorities on short notice, manage interruptions and work well under pressure. High degree of confidentiality and professionalism needed at all times.

Years Of Experience

  • 7-10 : 7+ years of experience in Project Management with a business environment. Procurement, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Transportation related experience is preferred.
