This opportunity entails being responsible for interpreting client goals and program requirements needed to establish design goals and parameters for medium sized project assignments. Serves as a resource to the project architect and project manager as the design is developed. Responsible for communication of design concepts to client and project teams.
What You’ll Do:
- Provides interpretation of client’s goals and programs. Prepares design concepts consistent with client’s goals, budget and schedule.
- Works closely with the project architect and protect manager in planning and implementing all work processes.
- Prepares work plans, estimating hours to complete tasks, developing project reports, managing consultant team members (including coordination and incorporation of all work products) and reviewing invoices.
- Serves as subject matter expert on architectural projects of the largest size.
- Develops and presents design viewpoint on all projects. Ensures that a design solution, consistent with the program, budget and schedule is properly developed and produced.
- May mentor other team members, including early to mid-career professionals.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field and 8 years of relevant experience.
What You'll Bring:
Expert communication with PMs, project teams, clients, contractors, and consultant teams regarding various technical aspects of the project.
Ability to analyze design and construction systems, design layouts, and construction features. Ability to research and apply/incorporate technical data into design documents.
Experience in coordination of architectural/engineering project team to prepare design documents.
Ability to ensure compliance with standards, established architectural practices, applicable codes and technical adequacy of design and construction.
Experience in the preparation, review, and coordination of design documents prior to issuance, including verifying project design conformance with client’s scope, budget, and schedule.
Project experience in medium-sized and large-scale projects.
History of successful leadership on complex projects.
Advanced working knowledge of Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Suite.
Skills in computational design, or other emerging technologies.
Demonstrated technical ability and leadership skills.
Clear communication skills, including presentation skills.
Patience and ability to mentor and develop others.
Knowledgeable in current and emerging tools including Autodesk Revit, cloud filesharing/collaboration, complex 3D modeling, Rhino, 3-D Max, Sketch-up, and visualization.
Knowledgeable in current accessibility and sustainability codes and standards.

The approximate pay range for New York is $119,989.38 - $187,675.71. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position based on all selected locations within the state at the time of posting.
