The Sr. Program Manager of Construction, Launch, and Facilities (CLF) will serve as the leader of multiple construction projects including new fulfillment centers and corporate offices to include both new sites, renovations, and new business strategies! The Sr. Program Manager plans, coordinates, advises and supervises internal teams, subcontractors and vendors for multiple projects, ensuring they complete work on time and within budget, and is the central point of communication to all partners. They are highly organized individuals with an understanding of all aspects of a project in addition to solid project management skills. The Sr. Program Manager ensures that a quality system is ready on time and on budget. In addition to project execution, the Sr. Program Manager will also lead in the standardization of the CLF Team process documentation and standard work that drives a successful launch. This includes detailed follow-up after launch, robust lessons learned analysis, and continuous improvement of the launch process. The ideal candidate will combine deep operational expertise with strong program management skills to ensure timely, on-budget project delivery while maintaining the highest standards of quality and operational efficiency!
What You'll Do:
- People Management:
- Lead and develop a team(s) of Project/Program Managers, setting expectations for project scope, plan development, communications/coordination's, benchmark attainment, tracking, to ensure goals/timelines are met.
- Establish and reinforce Chewy CLF team operating standards, expectations to customers (operations), crafting scalable project templates/checklists, data storage, and communication channels.
- Project Planning:
- Work with multiple Team Members to understand the needs of each leader and translate the needs into the functional design of the building.
- Review and approve detailed engineering drawings and ensure that operational changes are incorporated into designs and evaluated for future builds.
- Lead in the documentation of all CLF process standard work tasks and design spec which includes working with the Engineering Team to communicate and design shell improvements.
- Prepare, publish, distribute and maintain a project timeline with milestones for all cross-functional partners
- Build bid packages, negotiate any revisions to vendor bids, and facilitates project scope changes
- Maintain up to date financial picture of project, providing finance/accounting with schedule of invoicing
- Project Execution:
- Monitor project progress, incorporate resolutions to potential project delays and communicates project status to leadership on a timely basis
- Ensure smooth and consistent communication and exchanges of data between operations, vendors, and internal Team Members
- Prepare a concise and thorough commissioning plan and acceptance testing, leading commissioning activities of vendors and ensures operations acceptance
- Supervise fulfillment of contract requirements to ensure quality and timeliness of services/deliverables
- Travel as a program manager is required and depending on the current project assignment(s) could range up to 75%.
What You'll Need:
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Project Management, or a related field.
- PMP or other relevant project management certification is preferred.
- Experience:
- 7+ years technical experience with project management
- 5+ years' experience functional experience in implementing process changes and running large sophisticated projects
- 5+ years of experience in large scale Programs/Projects
- Skills:
- Proven leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to identify and improve both job performance and abilities of direct reports.
- Highly skilled in reading, interpreting, and editing detailed engineering drawings with the ability to identify flow and functional issues that impact cost or operations flow.
- Strong analytics and communications background (e.g., math, statistics, quantitative methods, and verbal and writing proficiency)
