The Role

Introduction

As a Senior Program Manager in iRobot’s Chief Engineer Team, you will provide project management leadership to the cross-functional program team to successfully support the New Product Introduction (NPI) iRobot products and initiatives. Among these would include coordination of efforts and deliverables for product concept development, engineering execution, coordination of 3rd party partners, compliance and regulatory, marketing, manufacturing, and go to market. Responsibilities will include organizing and facilitating necessary team meetings, producing minutes and driving timely completion of action items. The Senior Program Manager will create and maintain project plans including resource planning, budget management, schedule, critical path, and PO generation. The Senior Program Manager will prepare documentation and information needed to support cross functional discussion and decision making and gate reviews.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of product development best practices, coupled with system thinking and excellent organizational skills. The leader we are looking for will have a demonstrable past track record of success in leading development of products and innovative technologies through well thought-out and transparent delivery plans. This role requires a detail-oriented leader with strong organizational and communication skills and the ability to multitask and effectively process volumes of information in a dynamic and fluid environment. Experience managing complex systems inclusive of electromechanical and software components, ideally robotics, is strongly preferred.

What You Will Do:

  • Build strong relationships with subject matter experts across all teams involved in NPI, both within iRobot and with our partners
  • Work with Product Management, and cross-functional program teams to clarify expectations, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Work closely with the team Product Engineer and Systems Engineer to define, develop, test, launch, and sustain products on time and with excellent quality

To Be Successful You Will Have:

  • Degree in engineering field
  • 8+ years within a new product introduction role, consumer electro-mechanical devices preferred.
  • 5+ years of program/project management experience with a track record of successfully managing complex projects or initiatives.  Experience in the robotics industry preferred but not essential.
  • Ability to manage multiple teams across broad range of domains
  • Experience with product development processes
  • Proven track record of exceptional capability in modern IoT physical product and/or digital experience development, and best practice program management methodologies.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, organizational and leadership talents, communication skills, and customer focus.  High level of emotional intelligence.
  • Preferred- Engineering Management experience
  • Preferred - Working experience within an Agile environment as individual or project lead
