Description
Work Arrangement
This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Sunnyvale CA office three times per week, at minimum, or other frequency dictated by the business.
The Role
The Program Manager, Campus & Intern Programs sits within Global Talent Acquisition / Early Career Talent and is responsible for designing, executing, and continuously improving GM's campus engagement strategy and summer internship program.
Roughly half of this role focuses on campus partnerships, recruiting strategy, and events, and the other half on end-to-end intern program design, delivery, and evaluation. You will collaborate closely with Talent Acquisition Partners (TAPs), HR, business leaders, and Program/Track leads to deliver a consistent, scalable, and high-impact early career experience that fuels GM's long-term talent pipeline.
What You'll Do
Campus Program Management (≈ 50%)
  • Lead the end-to-end campus strategy across priority schools and programs (e.g., engineering, business, data/analytics, manufacturing, and other critical skill areas).
  • Translate hiring forecasts and business priorities into campus recruiting plans, including role mix, locations, and timing aligned to the early-career forecast and requisition calendar.
  • Design and execute on-campus and virtual events (information sessions, tech talks, case competitions, career fairs, interviews, diversity conferences) that tell a compelling GM story and convert to quality applicants.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with career centers, faculty, student organizations, and diversity partners; serve as a primary GM point of contact for assigned campuses.
  • Partner with Talent Marketing to shape student-focused campaigns, content, and messaging that highlight GM's mission, culture, and early-career opportunities.
  • Use data from applications, offers, acceptance rates, and conversion to evaluate campus ROI, refine school portfolios, and recommend shifts in strategy.
  • Enable and coach hiring managers, alumni ambassadors, and business sponsors to show up consistently at events with clear roles, tools, and talking points.
  • Ensure operational excellence in event planning (budget, logistics, materials, travel, vendor coordination, and post-event follow-up) and document best practices/playbooks.

Intern Program Management (≈ 50%)
  • Contribute to the design and delivery of the GM summer internship program (e.g., 12-week structure, start dates, calendar of events) across multiple functions and locations.
  • Partner with HR, TAPs, and business leaders to translate headcount plans into a cohesive program (timelines, cohort structure, manager readiness, project guidelines).
  • Contribute to the pre-boarding and onboarding for interns and managers, ensuring clarity on expectations, logistics (laptops, badges, workspace), and program milestones.
  • Build and manage the core program experience, including kickoff, learning events, technical and professional development sessions, leadership talks, social/networking events, community impact experiences, and end-of-program showcases for interns located in the Bay Area.
  • Standardize and continuously improve intern project guidelines to ensure meaningful, scoped work that aligns with business outcomes and skill development.
  • Own the performance management and feedback process (e.g., Workday midpoint and final evaluations), ensuring managers are trained, timelines are met, and data quality supports return-offer decisions for interns within the assigned function.
  • Coordinate with HR and TA on return and graduating intern offers, timelines, and communications to drive strong conversion to full-time roles and rotational programs.
  • Develop and manage program communications and resources (SharePoint hubs, FAQs, manager toolkits, intern guides, newsletters) so stakeholders have a single source of truth.
  • Track and report program health metrics (hiring, conversion, satisfaction/NPS, event participation, acceptance rates) and use insights to recommend program enhancements.
  • Manage program budgets, vendors, and swag/experience logistics in partnership with finance and operations, ensuring a high-quality yet cost-conscious experience.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
  • 5+ years of experience in program management, university/campus recruiting, early career programs, HR, or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and running structured programs (e.g., internships, leadership development, rotational programs, large-scale events).
  • Strong project and stakeholder management skills, with a track record of managing complex initiatives across multiple functions, timelines, and locations.
  • Proven ability to use data and feedback to inform decisions, measure impact, and iterate on programs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to tailor messaging for students, executives, hiring managers, and HR partners.
  • Comfortable facilitating large group meetings and events, both in-person and virtually.
  • High degree of organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects under tight timelines.

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Experience leading campus strategies and/or large-scale intern programs at a complex, matrixed organization.
