The Role

Inside the Role

DTNA Platform Product Strategy is responsible for the overall product strategy at DTNA, which includes gathering market inputs and feedback, developing roadmaps for our products, and scoping major and minor projects within the organization to drive product change. In addition, the strategy team provides data analysis to support product decision making, take rate modeling, and to help foster positive customer experience. In the Product Strategy department, you will gain knowledge of our customers, dealers, markets and products, as well as expand your professional network. We are looking for inspired and talented people to join our industry leading strategy team. In this role, you will establish and lead product projects from Quality Gate S through Quality Gate 9 and sit on the project team as the primary Sales and Marketing rep after QG9. You will also be creating business cases and presentation materials, and presenting this content to the leadership team to help cast the vision and strategy for DTNA’s Heavy Duty product portfolio.
This senior level role includes coaching other team members, establishing process and guidelines for the department, and acting as a resource for upper management surrounding product projects and roadmaps.
Also, you will define the strategy for current and future Heavy Duty Commercial Vehicles and technologies. This includes collaboration and alignments within Sales/Marketing, Engineering, Connectivity, Electric Mobility, Autonomous Vehicles, Daimler Truck Overseas and Daimler Truck Mexico. You will need to work autonomously to define/manage project deliverables for the Heavy Duty Platform and provide the company with information on product placement, future viable technologies, historical volumes and represent the customer in daily dialogues.

Position offers a starting salary range of $117,000.00 - $150,000.00 USD 

Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience​

What You Drive at DTNA

  • Act as a resource and guide for colleagues with less experience
  • Prepare presentations and present to senior leadership
  • Plan, monitor, and manage internal projects from initiation through completion
  • Create and maintain a product definition throughout the life of a project
  • Ensure project results meet customer and dealer expectations
  • Provide data analysis to support decision making and direction
  • Monitor performance and provide guidance to the team
  • Establish department standards, processes, and project deliverable requirements
  • Align strategy and opportunities across a range of users in the organization
  • Manage Product Roadmaps to guide future strategy

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • BS/BA and 5-7 years of relevant experience or 8 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • Experience in Project Management or leading teams
  • Ability to learn and deep dive technical topics and be comfortable in discussions with Engineering
  • Technical aptitude and experience in the transportation field
  • Knowledge of Daimler Truck North America systems and business processes
  • Well organized, able or handle multiple detailed tasks and work professionally across various levels of management
  • Solid communication and good networking skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint
  • 10% travel required
  • An attached resume required

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

  • Experience with customer and dealer interactions
  • Ability to understand technical topics and discuss them with non-technical customers
  • Deep knowledge of our Heavy Duty On-Highway products and components
  • Ability to analyze and independently solve complex problems with minimal guidance and identify solutions
  • Understanding of CVDS and XVERA processes
  • Experience working with various DTNA databases & tools (SpecPro, EMMA, Order Explorer)
  • Understanding of, and familiarity with, Tableau and Alteryx
