Job Duties & Responsibilities

The Trauma Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales growth, developing strategic customer relationships, and expanding market penetration within assigned hospital accounts. This role serves as a trusted clinical and commercial partner to orthopedic surgeons, operating room personnel, procurement teams, and hospital administrators, delivering exceptional customer experiences and clinical support.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and execute territory business plans to achieve and exceed sales targets and market share objectives.
  • Identify, penetrate, and expand opportunities within existing and new hospital accounts, building strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers.
  • Provide expert product knowledge, clinical insights, and operating room support to healthcare professionals during trauma procedures.
  • Work independently to manage territory activities, prioritize opportunities, and drive business growth with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of customer needs, hospital dynamics, competitive activities, and market trends to develop effective sales strategies.
  • Establish and maintain long-term partnerships with surgeons, nursing staff, supply chain teams, and hospital management through exceptional service and responsiveness.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, customer service, and supply teams to ensure seamless customer support and execution.
  • Deliver professional training and product education programs to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, industry regulations, and ethical business practices.

Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals.
