The Sr. Product Marketing Manager is responsible for developing Westlaw’s messaging that articulates its value proposition by customer segment. You will also be your product’s subject matter expert/chief storyteller and possess a deep understanding of how – and why – your prospects and customers do what they do; the problems that keep our customers and prospects up at night and how Westlaw can solve them.
In this role you will partner and work with the other Legal Marketing teams, segments, and product management to ensure that we mobilize our marketing engines and sales channels to drive new sales growth, higher renewal rates and overall market success.
About the Role
In this opportunity as a Sr. Product Marketing Manager, you will:
- Drive the execution of integrated product marketing strategies for Westlaw in close partnership with various areas such as Marketing Strategy, Campaign Planning, Demand Generation, and Product Management to further sales and revenue growth and achieve overall market success in line with goals and objectives.
- Evangelize the Westlaw value proposition and messaging, and collaboratively work across functions to ensure that it is positioned and prioritized accurately within go to market campaigns, demand generation, and sales assets.
- Develop and drive adoption of marketing materials such as collateral, customer case studies and competitive analysis, which support each phase of the marketing nurture cycle and buyer’s journey.
- Own the marketing launch of new Westlaw offerings into law firm & government markets.
- Understand customers’ workflow and pain points and how Westlaw addresses those pain points.
- Project manage mid-to-bottom funnel content creation with internal resources and outside writers and agencies.
Key Deliverables:
- Build and enhance Westlaw marketing programs with responsibility for iterative improvements.
- Monitor and interpret performance to plan for marketing initiatives and make recommendations to pivot messaging in order to achieve goals and objectives.
- Distill and prioritize complex information into guiding principles and simple, compelling marketing messages focused on customer problems.
- Weave together Westlaw’s capabilities, market trends and customer problems into compelling stories for demand generation activities and marketing campaigns.
- Create marketing assets, sales enablement tools and other go to market deliverables.
About You
You're a fit for the role of Sr. Product Marketing Manager if your background includes:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field.
- 5+ years of relevant marketing experience.
- Working knowledge of the Pragmatic Marketing framework
- Experience with product positioning, product management, product launches and marketing analytics in a B2B omnichannel marketing organization.
- Experience in the software, information services and/or relevant industries strongly desired.
- Previous success partnering with product strategy and leadership teams.
- Proven history of being a results-oriented self-starter with the ability to build effective cross-functional relationships through strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to influence and motivate all levels of an organization.
- Knowledge or experience related to the legal industry helpful but not required.

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The base compensation range varies across locations. Eligible office location(s) for this role include one or more of the following: Eagan, MN; Ann Arbor, MI; Richmond, VA; Rochester, NY. The base compensation range for the role in any of those locations is $97,100 - $180,300. This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.
