Samsung TV Plus is a growing destination for Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television (FAST) and Ad-Supported Video on Demand (AVOD) experiences. Launched in 2018, Samsung TV Plus offers a diverse range of live channels and on-demand content, providing an engaging viewing experience for users across 2016-2024 model Samsung Smart TVs and recent Galaxy mobile devices. It continues to expand its offerings and user base, solidifying its place as a leader in the streaming space.

Role and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute on strategic vision set by leadership by developing and prioritizing product tactics that enhance personalized content discovery.
  • Utilize experience in content curation and machine learning to improve the performance of content recommendation systems.
  • Conduct data analysis and market research to support product decisions and align with strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with leadership teams in Korea and the US, including engineering, UX, marketing, and legal to align on product requirements.
  • Maintain and manage a prioritized product backlog based on business goals, market needs, and user feedback.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess product effectiveness and guide continuous improvement.
  • Foster a culture of experimentation to enhance recommendation algorithms and user experiences.
  • Work closely with the UX team to ensure content discovery solutions are intuitive and engaging.
  • Stay informed about the latest trends in content recommendation technologies and machine learning within the streaming industry.

Skills and Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of product management experience in consumer-facing content services, ideally in the streaming video industry.
  • Proven experience working with content curation and applying machine learning to content recommendation systems.
  • Strong analytical skills and a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Experience collaborating with global, cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration.

Compensation for this role, for candidates based in Los Angeles, CA, is expected to be between $160,000 ~ $200,000.  Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.
