About the team and the role:

As Senior Technical Product Manager, Ad Marketplace, you will guide core serving and marketplace tools. You will handle some of our most vital systems in ad serving, bidding, and budget management. Your goal will be to make these systems outstanding in delivering fast results for advertisers. You will guarantee that advertiser budgets are allocated efficiently across eBay and other channels, ensuring maximum value. You will also contribute to innovation by investing in new growth paths within billion-dollar products.

You will achieve this by improving traditional and generative AI to build step-changes in our product capabilities. You will grow your product portfolio through relentless focus on growth and impact.

This position suits a technical product manager eager to advance ad tech and determined to significantly influence our sellers, buyers, and eBay’s financial performance.

What you will accomplish:

  • You will direct strategy concerning ad bidding, budget oversight, and goal-oriented optimization tools like Target ROAS

  • Champion innovation in AI, generative models, automation, and intelligent defaults to transform the advertiser journey

  • Partner closely with commercial and finance teams to align technical roadmaps with overarching business strategy

  • Leverage AI/ML to optimize core ad serving, improving incremental sales velocity, advertiser ROAS, and budget utilization

  • Cultivate a culture of progress guided by thoughtful experimentation, A/B testing, and detailed data analysis

  • Align closely with executive leaders across Product, Engineering, Commercial, Finance, and Legal

  • Represent your product area in senior leadership forums, seamlessly translating sophisticated technical strategies into clear business impacts

What you will bring:

  • 7-9 years of experience in technology product management, with 3–5 years of dedicated experience in digital advertising

  • Domain expertise in core ad tech, specifically ad serving infrastructure, auction dynamics, and core ad stack architecture within marketplaces, e-commerce, or high-scale consumer platforms

  • Strong technical proficiency with a validated ability to understand how brand new backend systems advance product metrics

  • Deep analytical capability with a data-first approach and outstanding experimentation skills

  • Hands-on experience developing products powered by artificial intelligence, including direct exposure to generative AI technology and deep learning models
