eBay, Inc. seeks Sr Product Manager 2 - Technical in San Jose, CA

What you will accomplish:

Job Duties: Develop short and long-term product strategies and technical product roadmaps for Seller Onboarding Registration to support enterprise business goals. This includes evaluating business cases and translating business and customer requirements into digital product roadmaps, engineering specifications, and system architecture documents. Run competitive intelligence analytics and internal data assessments to uncover new opportunities in Seller Registration. This includes advanced data analysis using Tableau, Google Analytics, Excel, SQL and BigQuery, and Looker, along with conducting user research and Voice of Customer (VoC) studies to identify key seller pain points. Collaborate with engineering, AI/ML, and data science teams to build scalable and intelligent onboarding features. Responsibilities include writing detailed product requirements for scalable onboarding flows leveraging scalable distributed systems and designing machine learning models such as NLP classifiers, Neural Networks, XGBoost, Decision Trees and LLMs to automate and optimize onboarding workflows. Conduct detailed product experimentation and performance testing. This includes designing and executing A/B and interleaving tests using internal platforms, analyzing test results with statistical methods such as t-tests and regression analysis, and leveraging tools like Excel, Looker, and SQL for clickstream and behavioral data analysis. Track and analyze key operational metrics and financial KPIs to assess product health and business impact, using centralized dashboards and governance frameworks powered by tools such as Tableau, Looker, and BigQuery. Manage business stakeholders through structured product reviews, roadmap presentations, and impact-effort prioritization frameworks. Facilitate decision-making using data-backed insights and provide strategic recommendations aligned with business OKRs. Collaborate with offshore development and analytics teams across multiple time zones to drive timely execution of technical deliverables and maintain continuous alignment on product goals. Define and document functional and technical system requirements for complex workflows including identity verification, seller risk scoring, fraud detection, and regulatory compliance, in collaboration with engineering, risk, and legal teams. Partner with AI/ML teams to design and implement models that personalize the seller onboarding experience. This includes dynamic content rendering, tailored onboarding paths, and contextual recommendations using behavioral signals, seller profiles, and inferred intent. Applied ML techniques include ensemble models such as XGBoost for seller scoring, clustering algorithms like K-Means for segmentation, and NLP models for intent recognition and messaging optimization. Lead the definition of platform capabilities and technical product components for seller onboarding systems, including authentication services, modular onboarding workflows, and integration with internal APIs and third-party services, ensuring extensibility, fault tolerance, and alignment with long-term architectural goals. Partial telecommuting may be permitted from within a commutable distance.

What you will bring:

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems Management or a closely related field plus six years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems Management or a closely related field plus eight years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

Special Skill Requirements:

1.    Experience performing advanced data analysis using SQL, BigQuery, and Teradata (5 years)
2.    Experience using data visualization tools such as Tableau and Looker to build dashboards and analyze KPIs (5 years)
3.    Experience conducting statistical analysis of A/B tests using t-tests and regression techniques in Excel or Looker (4 years)
4.    Experience working with cloud-based distributed data systems such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Snowflake (1 year)
5.    Experience collaborating on the development of machine learning models such as NLP classifiers, XGBoost, and Decision Trees (4 years)
6.    Experience using clustering algorithms such as K-Means for segmentation and user profiling in product applications (4 years)
7.    Experience conducting user behavior and clickstream analysis using SQL and internal analytics platforms (3 years)
8.    Experience using Alteryx or Google Analytics for data preprocessing and funnel analysis in onboarding workflows (1 year)
9.    Experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs) and applying them to intent recognition, content generation, or messaging optimization in digital product workflows (1 year)
 

Salary: $275,850.00-275,850.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
