5+ years Product Engineering (automotive industry)
Is responsible design and development, building support at plant.
Summary
Responsible for specific engineering tasks or technical issues as assigned to meet current and future needs. Develops and provides resolution to customer technical issues. Provides engineering support of SDT.
Provides technical direction to Designers, and support personnel. Provides solutions to resolve technical issues in assigned area of design responsibility and works with team to ensure time and cost objectives are met. Elevates as appropriate. Utilizes best practices in engineering. Learns and supports PDfSS. Capable of communicating effectively with program team, suppliers, and support personnel.
Major responsabilities:
Applies best practices in creating layouts, detail assembly drawings. Uses customer’s environment to ensure no packaging or interference problems exist in the drawings/data.
Applies best practices in design and engineering. This can include but is not limited to IDOVV, drawing standards, FEA, GD&T, root cause analysis, DVP, DFMEA, hand calculations and use of carry-over and CPP technology.
Executes robust design/design changes to provide the highest quality in the build and assembly of prototype parts with agreed to process. Ensures design data is released on-time to support highest quality assemblies for testing and the customer.
Supports root cause analysis in the resolution of test failures. Informs lead engineer or engineering manager of any potential safety concern.
Support and provide technical data of the seat for several activities such as testing set up, H-point measurement, etc.
Supports generation of DFMEAs prior to release of prototype tooling.
Performs design studies or tolerance stack-ups to ensure highest quality product assembly and performance.
Uses the right tool/technology for providing technical solution to program/product issues.
Working side-to-side with a multifunctional team of local and foreign engineers with the objective of meeting product and program requirements and criteria.
Manage Complete Seat Layouts, customer design reviews, release owner of design 3D and 2D, EBOM’s, and all technical data related to the seat.
Design of products according to Adient and customer requirements.
