Position Summary
XNRGY Climate Systems is seeking an experienced Senior Product Engineer to support the development, testing, qualification, and deployment of HVAC products, including air-cooled chillers, CRAHs, custom AHUs, and data center cooling solutions.
This role will be responsible for planning and executing product validation activities, analyzing test data, supporting prototype and pre-production builds, and assisting manufacturing during new product introductions. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, production, quality, sourcing, suppliers, and external laboratories to ensure products meet performance, reliability, quality, and manufacturing requirements.
Travel up to 25% may be required to support testing, factory activities, supplier visits, and product qualification programs.
Main Responsibilities
Product Testing & Qualification
Execute product validation and qualification test plans.
Support laboratory testing of chillers, CRAHs, custom AHUs, and related cooling systems.
Collect, analyze, and interpret engineering test data and provide recommendations.
Prepare technical reports and summarize test results for stakeholders.
Support AHRI, UL, CSA, and customer qualification programs.
Coordinate testing activities with external laboratories and suppliers.
Product Development & Implementation
Support product development activities from concept through production release.
Assist with component evaluation and product improvements based on performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost.
Support prototype, Proof of Concept (POC), and pre-production builds.
Participate in design reviews and provide technical recommendations.
Support Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
Manufacturing & Production Support
Work closely with manufacturing teams during new product introductions and product launches.
Support production in resolving product-related technical issues.
Investigate design, manufacturing, and field issues and support root cause analysis activities.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
5+ years of experience in HVAC, refrigeration, thermal systems, or product development engineering.
Experience supporting laboratory testing, product validation, and qualification programs.
Experience collecting, analyzing, and interpreting engineering data.
Working knowledge of refrigeration systems, thermodynamics, psychrometrics, and HVAC equipment.
Experience supporting manufacturing and new product introduction activities.
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred
Experience with air-cooled chillers, CRAHs, custom AHUs, or data center cooling equipment.
Experience with magnetic bearing centrifugal compressors, or oil-free compressor technologies.
Experience supporting POC, ECS, qualification, and commercialization programs.
Knowledge of AHRI, UL, CSA, and related industry standards.
Familiarity with CAD software and engineering documentation processes.
Experience working directly with manufacturing and production teams.
