Job Summary
The Application Development Engineer plays a key role in driving the adoption, performance, and market success of REGEN Fiber's reinforcement products in construction and composite applications. This role combines technical expertise, market insight, and customer collaboration to develop and optimize solutions that drive compelling value for our customers. This position works cross-functionally with product management, marketing, sales, and operations to ensure product success from definition through implementation with customers. This position also navigates and drives development efforts by working with external experts, consultants, and testing firms.

What you will do
  • Lead development, testing, and optimizing product applications to help define commercial paths for our products.
  • Coordinate and oversee lab and field trials conducted by third-party testing firms to validate material performance under different conditions either to meet performance requirements.
  • Analyze mix designs, processing methods, and performance metrics to optimize product performance for commercial offerings and/or specific customers.
  • Act as the technical lead in translating customer requirements into actionable testing and product validation plans.
  • Collaborate with product, marketing and sales teams to identify new market opportunities and strategies for product differentiation
  • Stay informed and navigate compliance with industry standards such as ASTM, AASHTO and sustainability programs such as LEED, in order to support certifications, documentation, and technical specifications and approvals needed for customer adoption
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Work directly with prospects and customers to understand their needs and provide technical guidance on the best product applications.
  • Provide hands-on technical support and training to customers and/or internal technical support resources on product performance, application methods, and best practices.
  • Partner with sales and marketing teams to position products effectively, develop case studies, and support customer adoption efforts.

Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree Material Science, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Science or related field Preferred

Required Experience
  • 5-10 years of experience in product applications, technical support, or application development within construction, concrete, composites, or materials industries.
  • Experience managing third-party testing firms and external consultants for specification or R&D activities preferred.
  • Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., ASTM, AASHTO, etc.) and sustainability trends is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of concrete mix designs, fiber reinforcements, polymer composites, and/or construction materials.
  • Independent Problem-Solving: Ability to navigate ambiguous challenges, drive testing and validation plans, and work effectively with others to develop solutions and offerings.
  • Customer-Centric Approach: Experience working directly with customers to implement and refine product solutions.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with construction practices, sustainability initiatives, and/or material science.
  • Collaborative Approach: Ability to work with all stakeholders (internal, customers, partners) in a collaborative manner that includes curiosity, strong communication and empathy.
  • Project Management Skills: Experience managing multiple external resources and driving projects to completion.
  • Analytical & Communication Skills: Ability to interpret test results and technical data, and effectively communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work in a dynamic environment, where validated learning can rapidly pivot priorities and focus.

This position has an annualized market-based salary range:

$110,000-$130,000

The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
