As a Senior Product Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in participating in enhancing our software solutions, driving the development and optimization of products that cater to the dynamic needs of advertisers. Your responsibilities will include product research, product optimization, and innovation, fostering data-driven decision-making, stakeholder engagement, and continuous learning and improvement. In this role, you will be able to shape the future of Viant’s product offerings, contributing directly to our mission of empowering marketers with cutting-edge tools and insights for successful ad campaigns. Your analytical expertise and product intuition will be crucial in driving the continuous evolution of our platform to meet and exceed market demands.


The essence of service in the Senior Product Analyst role is ensuring that internal teams and external clients are well-supported through insightful analysis and contributions to product excellence. While the role focuses on analysis and strategy, the ultimate goal is to enhance product performance, customer satisfaction, and market competitiveness, embodying a service-oriented approach to product management.

THE DAY-TO-DAY

  • Conduct in-depth data analyses of product usage, market trends, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities and challenges. Apply these insights to drive product development and optimization strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and measure product success.
  • Take a leading role in strategic analysis projects, guiding product development with actionable insights. Senior Product Analysts are expected to participate in and lead cross-functional teams through complex analyses, ensuring strategic objectives are met.
  • Employ advanced analytics techniques and statistical models to predict market trends, user behavior, and product performance. This includes developing and deploying sophisticated models that can directly influence product strategy and decision-making.
  • Contribute to the creation of product documentation and training materials.
  • Lead and participate in the product feature development process from concept through launch, ensuring data-driven insights inform all stages.
  • Mentor junior analysts, sharing best practices and insights to foster a culture of high performance and continuous learning within the team.
  • Communicate complex data insights and strategic recommendations to senior management and key stakeholders. As a Senior Product Analyst, you must be adept at influencing product direction and company strategy through compelling, data-driven narratives.

GREAT TO HAVE

  • At least 3 years of experience analyzing and interpreting complex datasets, with a proven track record of applying these insights to inform product decisions.
  • Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries and familiarity with data analysis programming languages such as Python or R.
  • Strong experience with data visualization tools, capable of translating complex datasets into clear, actionable reports for diverse audiences.
  • Experience with forecasting, statistical analysis, and quantitative techniques to address business questions and product challenges.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including providing constructive criticism and actionable recommendations to enhance product features and team dynamics.
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead projects, mentor team members, and influence cross-functional teams. Leadership skills are crucial for driving initiatives and fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
  • Strong strategic thinker with the ability to connect analytical insights with business strategies. It is expected to have a keen sense for identifying opportunities that align with company goals and the understanding to pursue them effectively.

  • NICE TO HAVE:

  • Demonstrated understanding of product discovery and delivery processes, ensuring products meet user needs and business objectives.
  • Familiarity with the Advertising Technology landscape, including Demand Side Platforms (DSPs), Supply Side Platforms (SSPs), Data Management Platforms (DMPs), and other related technologies. This knowledge helps in crafting solutions tailored to the advertising market.
  • A history of providing constructive criticism and collaborative feedback, facilitating an environment where team members feel supported and empowered to improve.
  • Experience in strategic thinking and planning, utilizing data insights to guide product direction and innovation.
