The Role

Job Description

The Auto Line of business is on a multi-year road map to modernize the technology platforms supporting Auto Lease and Loan accounts through the full account life cycle. The new environments is known as CARS (Chase Auto Recover and Servicing). At the center of this new environment is a new to Chase vendor application, "Alfa". Alfa will be the core system in the new environment, and the system of record for Auto Leases and Loans. Alfa is a highly configurable system and requires a team of Configurators to build and maintain that configuration.

Working on a team with other Configurators, the Alfa and/or Camunda System Configurator builds and maintains the Business and Operational workflow, workflow and account life events, account specific data, etc that executes within the Alfa system and/or interfaces with the much larger CARS environment. We do operate in a hybrid working environment, where the team is onsite M/T/TH and remote W/F.

  • Participate in, and contribute to, Business and Operational Process design sessions for build in the Alfa and/or Camunda System
  • Assist the Feature Lead in building and maintaining the Process Design Documentation and detailed Visio workflow diagram
  • Understand at a high level the integration layers supporting a workflow, and how (or if) they impact the workflow design
  • In the system, construct business process workflows, including; Workflow triggers, progressions, Business rules associated with individual workflow steps (including hierarchy when multiple rules in a step); Integration points with non-chase systems (ex: letter engine, CBN,CDN); Miscellaneous fields (and of the incorporation into the workflow); Alerts (and the incorporation in the workflow)
  • Collaborate with Feature lead, business and technology teams through the configuration development lifecycle.
  • Identify and define downstream integration impacts from concept through execution
  • Test workflows prior to promotion to UAT (either in a separate configuration test environments or the development environment)
  • Participate with the Feature Lead to plan and present Process review sessions to the business, operations, legal and Compliance teams. Known as a Playback Session, these detailed walk throughs and explanation of a business process workflow and the integration points
  • Support Development teams for ad-hoc configurations such as adding a valid value to a misc. field, adding a new alert, adding a new business rule to an existing workflow



  • Minimum 8 years of Auto Servicing and Collections business/technical system analysis experience, with prior experience with Camunda or similar business rule engines preferred
  • Knowledge of Agile Framework methodologies and tools for software delivery life cycle. Direct involvement and/or contributor within a scrum team environment (story refinement, sprint planning, sprint execution) preferred.
  • Effective collaborator and problem solver with strong technical aptitude, analytical skills and clear written and especially verbal communication
  • Highly organized and driven individual, inquisitive to drive self-learning, and able to work independently towards continuous improvement
  • Familiar with business requirements management, process mapping and process re-engineering
