The Team:
Mattel Game Studios is looking for a Senior Producer to take a key role in developing an upcoming casual game. The Senior Producer will oversee the entire game development process, from concept to launch and beyond. This position involves being the primary contact for external developers, managing project and milestone schedules, submission planning, and overall development plans, while providing ongoing oversight throughout the product lifecycle.
Job DescriptionThe Opportunity:
This role partners closely with Product leadership and cross-functional stakeholders (Design, Art, Engineering, QA, Analytics, Monetization, Growth/UA, LiveOps, Brand, Legal, and Platform) to translate strategy into scoped work, realistic plans, and measurable outcomes. You will track delivery health using capacity/velocity and connect execution to player outcomes (engagement/retention) where relevant. The ideal candidate is passionate about casual mobile gaming and keeps up to date with the latest market trends and news.
Core Outputs
· Production schedules and status reporting that accurately track progress and forecast delivery
· Release readiness checklists, quality gates, and go/no-go decision support
· A visible risk register with owners, mitigations, and escalation triggers
· Clear stakeholder communications (weekly exec status; milestone readouts; decision logs)
· Post-mortems and process/tooling improvements that increase throughput and reduce repeat issues
What Your Impact Will Be:
· Own delivery predictability using capacity planning, velocity/throughput tracking, and scope tradeoffs to keep commitments realistic and sustainable.
· Lead the external development partner’s execution: milestone definitions, sprint commitments, escalation paths, and integration into Mattel’s release cadence.
· Maintain a single source of truth in Jira (or equivalent) for scope, sprint readiness, dependency tracking, and delivery status; enforce sprint hygiene and backlog readiness.
· Run the operating rhythm: planning, execution syncs, dependency reviews, risk reviews, and release readiness (checklists/quality gates), plus post-mortems to improve reliability over time.
· Own submission and release planning across soft launch and global launch: platform requirements, build sign-offs, release coordination, and rollback/contingency planning.
· Drive build reviews and milestone evaluations to validate progress across design, content, engineering, performance, UX, and stability; enforce quality bars before releases.
· Partner with LiveOps/Product to translate strategy into a shipped cadence: events/offers/content beats (as applicable), operational readiness, and clear KPI targets for iteration.
· Communicate clearly and credibly: concise status updates, exec readouts, decision framing, and tradeoff recommendations.
· Foster a culture of transparency and accountability: realistic planning, clear ownership, and disciplined follow-through.
QualificationsWhat We’re Looking For:
· 7+ years of experience in game development or product management across various platforms such as social, F2P, mobile, web, console, and handheld.
· 2+ years of experience as a Producer in the games industry, including leading the development of game features and services.
· Proven ability to collaborate with and manage external development teams.
· Strong project management skills, with experience using project management tools and methodologies.
· Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
· In-depth knowledge of production, understanding common challenges faced by teams, and providing tailored solutions.
· Data-informed decision-making: able to partner with Analytics/Monetization/Growth to prioritize work based on outcomes, not opinions.
· Demonstrated significant contributions to complex cross-functional projects, successfully delivering quality, adhering to schedules, and balancing scope, capacity, budget, risk, and time.
· Experience managing a diverse team of developers, including programmers, artists, animators, designers, and testers.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· A passion for gaming with a deep understanding of the gaming landscape and the game development life cycle.
· A proactive mindset with the ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
· Experience with licensed games is an advantage.
