Job Description:
The Central Team Sr. Process Engineer is responsible for leadership and development of new processes, products, capabilities and technology platforms with emphasis on robust science, data capture and data analysis. The Sr. Process Engineer collaborates with other Central R&D functions and cross-functional teams to identify process hazards, conduct feasibility analysis, and execute projects from framing to handover. The Central Team Sr. Process Engineer will also provide training and expertise and lead and influence small teams in a variety of settings including bench top, pilot plant and manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead test plan development, experimental setup, test execution and data analysis to quantify key process parameters and fundamental mechanisms at both pilot and factory scales.
Deliver scalable process specifications collaboratively developed with Product Development and Supply Engineering to achieve product targets and ensure superior product quality and food safety.
Identify and evaluate innovative processing options based on product requirements including evaluation based on technical and economic feasibility.
Provide technical support to Product Development, Quality, and Supply on new or existing processes.
Build/maintain networks within the Technology, Product Implementation, Packaging, Engineering, and Quality teams.
Lead translation of technology ideas into visual, physical models and working prototypes.
Collaborate with intellectual property team to provide IP protection of new technologies.
Apply lean thinking principles and value-added engineering.
Work as part of the Central Process Development team to assist in the management of scale-up risk and introduction of technology into supply chain.
Develop and manage capital projects to install factory scalable equipment into the global innovation development centers as needed t support innovation growth projects.
The Central Process Development Team will work with associates from other Central R&D functions including Product Development, Formulation, Packaging, and Consumer Technical Insights. The team will also work closely with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Commercial, Supply, and Sales. The Central R&D team will work collaboratively with teams in the Operational Entities to deliver the global innovation agenda.
