Northrop Grumman Aeronautics System has an opening for a Principal Systems Administrator or Senior Principal Systems Administrator to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. Engineering Technicians should be strong team players. This position will be located primarily in San Diego, California with regular travel to Palmdale, California.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Linux Administrators create, maintain and update documentation.
-
Back up, retrieve, maintain, and migrate Linux based programs and data.

Will work under the supervision of senior System Admins / System Engineers.

Monitor systems, validate the integrity and accessibility of all server resources, hardware, systems, and key processes.

Carry out hardware upgrades, performance tuning, and resource optimization whenever required.
Basic Qualifications Principal Systems Administrator:
-
Bachelor’s of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 4 years of experience in technical systems and product support; OR Master’s of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 3 years of experience in technical systems and product support OR PhD in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 0 years of experience in technical systems and product support.

Strong understanding of the Unix-based operating system.

Install new Linux OS releases, configure, upgrade, patch, and secure servers. Install, upgrade, and maintain Intel-based system hardware and Red Hat Linux software.

Strong knowledge of Red Hat Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) including Certificate Server.
-
Experience in managing one or more virtualization platform, such as KVM or VMWare or Hyper-V.
-
Understand TCP/IP, LDAP, Active Directory, NTP, DNS, and DHCP, among others.
-
Well-versed with scripting languages (i.e. Bash, PERL, Ruby, Python, etc).
-
Experience in handling NFS, CIFS, and SMB permissions. They need to have the capability to build multiple servers simultaneously. Need to review system and application logs.

Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret level clearance and Special Program Access.

Splunk, Microsoft Windows servers such as AD, DNS, Windows 10 Enterprise.

Experience in managing anti-virus solutions, such as McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator or Palo Alto Traps.

Knowledge of Dell server hardware and EMC storage.

An Active, In-Scope, DOD SECRET Security Clearance or higher that has been granted / renewed within the past 6 years.

Active Special Program Access.
Salary Range: $97,500.00 - $146,300.00Salary Range 2: $120,900.00 - $181,300.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
