Senior Principal Engineer in Software Development (NMS and AI/ML)
Job Description:
Infinera NM team is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Principal Engineer in Software Development with a focus on Network Management Systems (NMS) and Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML). The ideal candidate will be passionate about Cloud Architecture, Open-Source Software, Machine Learning and AI, Security, Scalability and ready to incorporate these into mature enterprise SW products for full stack aware development.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of new functions using required technologies such as Cloud integration, AI and Machine Learning, web technologies, scalable frameworks etc.
- Conduct peer code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices.
- Utilize agile development tools such as JIRA, GIT, Confluence, and CI/CD with Jenkins.
- Debug along with hardware and software engineers.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers in adapting new technologies and architectural principles.
- Develop and implement AI/ML models to enhance NMS functionalities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI/ML solutions into existing systems.
- Ensure the functionality and quality of Infinera's products before the new features and enhancements are released to end users.
- Work with most of the NMS product portfolio, leading to a quick and good overall system understanding.
Education Necessary:
- Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering in CS or EE with very good academics
Technical Skills Required:
- Programming Languages: Java, Python, Go, JavaScript.
- Database Systems: SQL (Oracle/Postgre) and cloud storage systems.
- SW Platforms: Cloud-based container providers – AWS/Azure/GC.
- Architecture paradigms: Event-Driven Architecture (e.g., Kafka, NATs), REST Interface-based systems, Micro services architecture.
- AI/ML: Experience with AI/ML frameworks and tools such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, etc.
- Basics of Network Protocols and Standards
Experience Necessary for Success:
- Experience: 10+ years within software development, with at least 4 years in a senior software architecture role.
- Experience in Product Development or Full Stack Development.
