Northrop Grumman Missions Systems, Mission Next Division is looking to hire an Engineer Supplier Quality level 4, to develop and lead a Supplier Performance Management process within the Mission Next Division (MNX). This individual will report into the Manager, Supplier Performance Management Mission Next Division. This position is located in Linthicum, MD.
This role is part of the GSC team and will be challenged to resolve issues and implement solutions, in a fast-paced environment – including process improvements, tools, metrics, data integration, and coordination and collaboration with key cross-functional stakeholders across the MGMN. The successful candidate will hold strong leadership skills, excellent oral and written skills, and an aptitude for DoD contracting requirements.
The Engineer Supplier Quality responsibilities will encompass but are not limited to:
Develops and implements supplier quality evaluation and control systems.
Assures supplier process and product quality, including contractual, regulatory, and technical compliance.
Interfaces directly with supplier personnel and must be knowledgeable in and capable of assessing both supplier quality and manufacturing processes and procedures.
Conducts product and process verification activities, monitors supplier quality performance, and drives root cause corrective action analysis for supplier quality issues.
Supports the maintenance of the approved supplier list and periodically reviews supplier performance to determine whether suppliers should remain on the approved list.
Manages supplier requests for waivers, deviations and discrepancy reporting process. Keeps management apprised of supplier performance, quality status, and risks.
Coordinates and oversees Supplier Quality plan implementation through all program phases.
Actively engages in supplier evaluation, qualification and selection as part of the Business Acquisition Process (BAP) and as new procurements are required on existing programs.
Lead on-site supplier engagements, including multiple people team activities such as supplier quarterly performance reviews and audits.
Understands continuous process improvement (CI) and can effectively develop and execute CI initiatives and activities.
Apply technologies, scientific principles, theories and concepts to analyze and audit our suppliers’ processes and capabilities.
Capable of leading cross-functional teams in pursuit of performance improvements aligned to department and organizational goals.
Mitigate supplier quality risk to prevent/minimize business impact from supplied material defects
Proactive reduction and prevention of supplied material defect occurrences and verification of supplied material defect claims
Strong communication skills (both oral and written)
Understands general contracting principles in a Department of Defense and commercial environment
Establish positive working relationships with suppliers and internal teams. Represent the company with credibility, confidence and professionalism.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in STEM with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in Quality or Supply Chain; Masters degree in STEM with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in Quality or Supply Chain
- Experience with of ISO 9001 or AS9100 requirements
- Must be able to travel up to 50% of the Time
- Experience in root cause analysis and corrective action
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
- US Citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or other Engineering discipline.
- Airframe Manufacturing Experience
- Six Sigma or Lean certifications.
- Experience in auditing to ISO 9001 and AS9100, AS9102 requirements.
- J-std-001, IPC600, IPC610, IPC620, IPC6010 series and Mil-Std-883 certification
- ASQ Lead Auditor, CQE, CQM Certification
- Possess current DOD Secret Clearance.
