Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for Senior Principal Electronics Engineer (Deputy Supplier Management Team (SMT) Lead to join the team of qualified individuals on our Avionics Integration Department. This role is onsite in Rancho Bernardo, CA.

Researches, designs, develops, and tests a variety of electronic equipment and systems, including radarNorthrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking to add a Senior Principal Electronics Engineer (Deputy Supplier Management Team (SMT) Lead) to our team in Rancho Bernando, CA. This position will be in our Avionics Integration Organization and will receive tasking from the Sensors Team lead within the Mission Systems IPT on the Triton program.

The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, engaged in significantly diverse assignments, within a collaborative/team setting across all levels of the organization.

The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility. Once established in role, this position could offer a hybrid work environment. Scheduled telework days are approved at manager's discretion. This position requires the ability to travel up to 25% of the time.

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Under the direction of the EOIR SMT Lead, manage supplier execution activities such as hardware and software deliveries, proposal reviews and negotiations, and risk and opportunity management
  • Conducting or coordinating review of supplier documentation and deliverables (SDRLs) (e.g., acceptance test procedures, cost and schedule reports, software version description documents)
  • As Control Account Manager (CAM) for material (subcontractor labor) control accounts, support monthly Business Rhythm by ensuring accurate EAC forecasting
  • Reporting supplier status to SMT Lead, GSC managers, and IPT Management
  • Develop Supplier Statements of Work (SSOW) through collaboration with key technical and programmatic stakeholders

Basic Qualifications for Senior Principal Electronics Engineer:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 8 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline with 3 years of related engineering experience.
  • Must have experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) of labor or material or subcontract labor accounts
  • Must have supplier management experience
  • Must have experience in Risk and Opportunity Management
  • At minimum, an active U.S.Government Secret Clearance is required to apply and to start the role, with the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the Company to meet its business needs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a STEM discipline, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field
  • Experience with T&M, CPIF, CPFF, and FFP contract types
  • Experience with requirements development/flow down
  • Experience with contract negotiations
  • Experience with technical evaluations of proposals
  • Program Management experience / completion of Project Management Professional course
  • Experience as a certified CAM
  • Experience with repair management, DMSMS evaluations, MRP requirements
  • General technical exposure to payload subsystems, platform integration and test and radiation detection equipment; radio, television and other communications equipment and systems; circuitry components; analog and digital computers; and control and test equipment

Primary Level Salary Range: $142,200.00 - $213,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
