Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer in support of the Sentinel program. This position is located: Roy, UT.

What You’ll Get To Do:

The Sentinel Infrastructure Analysis Team oversees the design/analysis of the facilities and related subsystems that support the future upgrade to the Minuteman III missile as well as the unique flight test facilities. Our teams are hiring Analysis Engineers within areas of focus: Structural Engineering/Analysis, Thermal Analysis, Bolted Joint analysis, Welded Joint Analysis, Power Analysis, etc.

As part of the Sentinel Infrastructure Analysis Team team, your technical expertise and analytical prowess will play a vital role in electrical analysis. This position invites a forward-thinking professional who is eager to tackle complex challenges and deliver innovative solutions that advance the future of the Sentinel Program.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 8 years of experience, or 6 years of experience with a Master’s degree, or 4 years of experience with a PhD.

  • Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance.

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

  • Electrical engineering experience in at least two of the following fields: electrical architecture, power systems, cable design, circuit design, interface definition (internal and/or external), or power distribution.

  • Knowledge of industry/military codes and standards, including mil-specs, IEEE, NEC, NESC, NFPA, IEC, and UFC.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledgeable with Siemens Teamcenter PLM or equivalent.

  • Working experience designing, troubleshooting (RCA) and/or implementing ground power systems, facility power systems and/or launch power systems.

  • Experience with high-power and/or high-frequency systems, including power electronics.

  • Knowledge of EMI/EMC design, shielding techniques, and thermal management for electronic systems.

  • Authorship and release of engineering documentation including technical drawings, specifications, and test procedures.

  • Working experience with designing cables to IPC/WHMA-A-620

  • Familiarity with DoD acquisition processes, milestone reviews, and government contracting.

  • Experience maintaining and reporting status of program activities

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package. 

Primary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $203,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
