Job Summary

The Senior Pricing Strategy & Analytics Consultant plays a key role in shaping the success of the Getaways by Southwest product by delivering reporting, dashboards, and insights that power smarter pricing, hotel merchandising, and forecasting decisions. In this role, you’ll become a subject matter expert in our Vacations pricing platform (Price Core), helping enhance its capabilities while partnering closely with a third‑party competitive price‑shop vendor and cross‑functional teams such as Vacations Pricing, Sales Enablement & Product, and Analytics. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys blending data expertise with strategic influence and wants their work to directly elevate the customer experience, strengthen Southwest’s competitive position in the vacation space, and contribute to our long‑standing commitment to providing legendary customer service.

Responsibilities
  • Build various dashboards and reports to support Vacations pricing, hotel merchandising, and related items.
  • Derive key takeaways from dashboards, reports and analyses and produce recommendations accordingly to drive the business forward. Communicate takeaways and recommendations effectively in both verbal and written fashion in a way that others can understand and action accordingly.
  • Produce decks regarding analyses and present to audiences as needed, including catering the message to the audience. Produce analytical materials for revenue strategy meetings and other meetings as needed.
  • Work with the Data Scientist(s), Vacations Pricing team, the Analytics teams and others on price elasticity/machine learning models and other analytics for pricing, hotel sort/landing page hotels, and other topics as needed.
  • Work with various teams on integrating customer audiences, segmentation, and personalization into our analytics and processes.
  • Work with the Analytics teams and others to ensure we have the appropriate data tables and sources to support our dashboards, reports, and analytical needs.
  • Become the SME for the Vacations pricing platform (Price Core) and how it works; manage the roadmap of improvements for Price Core and consistently evaluate ways to improve it and our pricing analytics and processes in general.
  • Collaborate with and support Tech, the Vacations Pricing Team, and others regarding price core troubleshooting, improvements, and processes.
  • Team with the Vacations Pricing Team to manage our competitive price shopping vendors, including troubleshooting issues, driving improvements, and putting automated quality assurance checks in place.
  • Become an SME on the competitive price shopping data, and continuously identify new ways to leverage and analyze it to improve our pricing processes and strategies.
  • Work with other teams such as the Vacations Partnership Management, Performance, and Pricing Teams to provide ad-hoc analysis and reporting as needed.
  • Develop and leverage analytical tools to support pricing rules and decision-making, including promotions and discounts.
  • Manage strategy for pricing, hotel sort order, and hotel carousels for assignment markets to have a strong understanding of the Pricing Team processes and to help identify and rollout analytical and process improvements accordingly.
  • Support the Vacations forecasting and budgeting processes by helping produce improvements in the forecasting files, analytics, and processes.
  • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft products: Excel (pivot tables, VBA, and slicers), Access, Outlook, Teams, etc.
  • Skilled in analytical and quantitative analysis with experience building quantitative models.
  • Skilled in collecting, organizing, visualizing, and interpreting data, including turning raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software.
  • Skilled in creating innovative and influential automated processes and reports with enterprise-level tools and data.
  • Skilled in working independently and applying a wide range of data mining, data cleansing and analysis methods to uncover new insights that are influential in making data-driven recommendations.
  • Skilled in influencing Senior Leadership by telling a compelling and relevant story that conveys well thought-out recommendations, explains complex concepts in a straightforward manner with actionable data-driven recommendations.
  • Skilled in leading mid-to-large scale cross functional projects.
  • Skilled in problem-solving and storytelling.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, written and verbally, including development and delivery of presentations to various audiences.
  • Ability to properly manage highly sensitive and confidential information.
  • Ability to contend with a range and complexity of large business problems.
  • Ability to align multiple parties, with conflicting/diverse viewpoints, on the direction for specific initiatives
Education
  • Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
  • Expert level experience, expansive and far-reaching knowledge in:
    • SQL, Alteryx, Tableau, and Python
    • Data retrieval: Extracting, manipulating, and organizing raw data.
    • Data analytics: Analyzing raw data to make conclusions and draw actionable insights.
    • Data visualization: Displaying data in a concise and easily digestible format.
    • Presenting and communicating analysis regularly in a variety of audiences, including senior executives
    • Solving ambiguous and complex problems through a systems-thinking approach
    • Applying data analytics techniques to business decisions such as pricing, merchandising or other related topics.

Pay & Benefits:

Competitive market salary from $119,900 - $133,200 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
