Job Description
Our team, known as Business Process Automation, plays a crucial role in creating the core elements of the Avaloq Banking Suite, which serves numerous banks. Our primary focus areas include:
- Business Process Management: Streamlining and improving the banks' internal processes to enhance efficiency.
- Rule Engines: Developing systems that automate decision-making processes based on predefined rules.
- Client Lifecycle Management: Managing the various stages of a client's relationship with the bank, from onboarding to ongoing service.
We collaborate closely with both our customers and partners to craft and implement innovative solutions tailored to our customers' needs. This collaborative approach allows us to stay at the forefront of the banking industry, particularly in relation to pioneering initiatives in Switzerland, Europe, and Asia.
Our team is composed of software engineers and a product owner, all of whom prioritize the customer in their daily activities. We operate with a high degree of autonomy and adhere to agile methodologies, which emphasize flexibility, iterative progress, and constant improvement. Despite the pressure of tight deadlines, we are committed to maintaining the highest quality standards in our work.
Your key tasks:
- Closely collaborate with the Team Lead, Product Owner, Team Architect and other Software Engineers
- Write solution designs for new developments and have them reviewed with our technical leads and architects
- Participate in client workshops and support our business analysts in requirements analysis
- Design, develop and maintain thought-out solutions within the team’s responsibility
- Improve and optimize existing functionalities
- Develop and maintain automated tests, quality insurance
- Take ownership and responsibility for your area of expertise
- Work with agile mindset, process and ticketing platforms (Jira)
Qualifications
- University degree in Computer Science or related discipline
- Minimum of 8 years of continuous relevant software development experience
- In-depth knowledge in database technologies (SQL, Oracle PL/SQL)
- Knowledge of Java programming language and frameworks.
- Eager to learn and understand the business needs aiming to provide clean designs and high-quality code
- Strong conceptual and analytical mind with a structured and autonomous approach to work on complex technical and business problems
It would be a real bonus if you have
- Good understanding of Java, Spring framework and Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA, SQL
- Experience in building distributed applications, (preferably) using microservice architectures and various integration patterns (messaging, RESTful API)
- Experience with developing Domain-specific languages (DSLs)
- Knowledge / experience in Docker (Openshift)
- Knowledge / experience in Git, Gradle, Jenkins
- Interest for the banking business and Business Process Management
