EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for a Sr Platform Systems Engineer in our Hughes Network Systems division in our Core Operations Systems Support team. This role will be responsible for supporting production deployments and infrastructure operations across North American and international environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in systems engineering, automation, and infrastructure support, with hands-on experience in both Unix/Linux and Windows environments. This position will be located at our headquarters in Germantown, MD.
Responsibilities:

• Maintain and support production environments across global Information Systems.
• Deploy, manage, and sustain Unix/Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Design and implement system and network infrastructure, including virtualization and storage solutions.
• Administer and support large-scale Storage Area Networks (SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS).
• Assist with network deployments and troubleshoot production issues.
• Engineer and support virtual environments including VMware, OpenShift, and KVM.
• Manage and support data and system backup solutions.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to support production systems.

Basic Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field
• 8 years of relevant industry experience in systems engineering or infrastructure support

Preferred Skills:

• Proficiency in Linux server deployment, administration, and automation.
• Experience with Windows Server administration and Active Directory.
• Strong networking skills and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Experience with storage technologies (NAS, SAN).
• Ability to work independently and lead technical projects.
• Willingness to provide on-call support as part of a rotation
• Hands-on experience with Ansible Automation Platform (including Ansible Tower/AWX).
• Familiarity with VMware vCenter, vRealize Operations Manager, and related tools.
• Experience with NetApp Clustered ONTAP.
• Scripting skills in Python, Bash, and/or PowerShell.
• Understanding of BIND DNS, Infoblox DNS/IPAM, and Unix authentication (PAM).
• Knowledge of Windows DNS and Active Directory.
• Experience with Horizon Virtual Desktop or Azure Virtual Desktop administration.

Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance.
The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level and competencies. Candidates need to successfully complete a pre-employment screen, which may include a drug test and DMV check.

Compensation Range
Annual Salary: $100,500.00 - $134,000.00
