Bridgeway is seeking a Sr. Platform Engineer responsible for architecting, designing, developing, and maintaining the Bridgeway platform that supports software development and deployment. The Sr. Platform Engineer will work to create robust, scalable, and efficient platforms that enable other teams to develop, test, and deploy applications seamlessly. This role combines aspects of software engineering, systems architecture, and operations to ensure Bridgeway’s underlying cloud infrastructure platform meets the needs of various applications and services. As a platform engineer, you will help drive an organizational mindset focused on DevOps, DevSecOps, Site Reliability, and modern Cloud Engineering principles and processes.
This is a remote position with preference given to East Coast candidates.
Responsibilities:
- Design and build scalable, resilient, and efficient platform solutions using cloud services and modern software design frameworks.
- Architect, develop, and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) that is modular and reusable.
- Collaborate with team members and cross-departmental partners to improve efficiency and strengthen DevOps practices through the automation of repetitive tasks and processes.
- Architect, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for platform functions and customer needs at scale.
- Build opinionated solutions based on event-driven architecture as well as object-oriented and functional design patterns.
- Take ownership of observability (O11y) as a Platform function by designing, developing, and implementing monitoring and logging solutions to ensure system reliability and performance.
- Develop an SDLC process for platform products to ensure regular system maintenance, updates, and patches, keeping them secure, current, and relevant.
- Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to understand their needs and provide the necessary platform support.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Cloud Infrastructure-related issues promptly to minimize downtime and disruption.
- Analyze system performance and implement optimizations to improve speed, efficiency, and resource utilization.
- Conduct capacity planning to ensure the infrastructure can scale with the growing needs of the organization.
- Utilize a security-first mindset to develop and maintain platform products ensuring all SOC, SOC2, HIPAA, NIST, and regulatory requirements are met.
- Implement and maintain security products and tolling, such as firewalls, identity and access management, and SIEM systems.
- Work within the teams Scrumban workflow to execute business objectives, both individually and as part of the platform team.
Requirements:
- 5+ years professional platform engineering experience
- Advanced knowledge of cloud platforms, specifically Azure
- Intermediate proficient in scripting and automation, specifically Python
- Strong understanding of version control and collaborative development workflows, specifically Github
- Intermediate proficiency with IaC tools, specifically Terraform
- Basic experience with CI/CD pipeline development and tools.
- Intermediate proficiency with Agile methodologies and the SDLC process.
- Solid understanding of containerization and orchestration, ECS, ACA, K8s, Docker.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Bachelor's in information technology, Software Development, or related field
