The Role

Provides technical expertise through sales presentations, product demonstrations, installation and maintenance of company products. Assists the sales staff in assessing potential application of company products to meet customer needs and preparing detailed product specifications for the development and implementation of customer applications/solutions. May build a mini-application based on customer requirements to demonstrate feasibility of the application, often requiring rapid prototyping and/or product demo for client. May provide software development and consultation to prospective users and/or product capability assessment and validation.

 

Ensures that the product application/solution is functioning according to specifications. May provide follow-up support to company sales staff and customer personnel by disseminating technical information on specific applications. Match here if incumbents are providing both pre and post-sales technical support; working with the customer from prior to the sale, through delivery and installation.

 

The Partner Security Solutions Architect (Partner SE/SSA) is a Trusted Technical Advisor for Qualys Partners and plays a critical role in driving technical enablement, joint solution architectures, partner services development, Qualys platform adoption, and integrations. This role combines technical expertise, sales acumen, support capabilities, and relationship management to empower partners to succeed with Qualys solutions and expand market reach.

 

Responsibilities:

Technical Expertise:

  • Develop deep expertise in Qualys’ products, solutions, and technologies.
  • Provide architectural guidance, deployment best practices, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Explain complex technical concepts in an accessible manner to partners.
  • Support partners in designing and customizing solutions to meet specific customer requirements.

Partner Enablement & Training:

  • Conduct technical training sessions, workshops, and webinars to educate partners on existing and new Qualys solutions.
  • Monitor and ensure partner technical readiness for supporting Qualys products.
  • Identify recurrent needs and develop scalable technical enablement initiatives/programs.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and resources to support partner efforts.

Pre-Sales Support:

  • Assist partners in the pre-sales phase by providing technical guidance, product demonstrations, and solution design.
  • Help partners tailor solutions to meet specific customer needs and develop compelling use cases.

Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with partners’ technical teams.
  • Act as a liaison between partners and internal Qualys teams (Product Management, Engineering, Support, SMEs).
  • Serve as the primary technical escalation point for partners and advocate for their technical needs.

Joint Solutions Development:

  • Help partners develop joint solution architectures, adopt the Qualys platform, and expand service practices.
  • Guide partners in integrating Qualys solutions with third-party systems/tools and building managed security services.

Feedback and Continuous Improvement:

  • Gather feedback from partners on Qualys products and provide it to internal teams for continuous improvement.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor offerings, and partner needs to ensure relevance.

Strategic Collaboration:

  • Assist in developing joint business plans and strategies with CAMs and partners.
  • Identify opportunities for growth, collaboration, and mutual success.
  • Align partner initiatives with Qualys’ company goals and strategies.

Support for Partner-Led Initiatives:

  • Assist partners in developing marketing and sales initiatives, such as workshops, events, and campaigns.
  • Provide technical content and support for partner-led activities.

Skills and Qualifications:

Technical Must-Haves:

  • Networking: Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, Layer 2/3/4+ technologies, and troubleshooting.
  • Operating Systems: Admin-level experience with Windows, Linux, Mac, and hypervisors.
  • Cloud Security: Expertise in securing workloads in AWS, Azure, and GCP, including architecture and best practices.
  • Cybersecurity: Strong understanding of firewalls, IDS/IPS, EDR/EPP, patching, asset management, certificates, and web applications.
  • Previous Experience: Demonstrated experience in a Partner SE or Partner Architect role.
  • Solid grasp of cybersecurity threat landscapes, frameworks, prioritization/remediation strategies, and scanning/reporting.
  • Familiarity with key industry vendors in security technologies.

Additional Skills (Good to Have):

  • Proven experience building and operating AM/VM/PC/PM programs with workflows, metrics, and best practices.
  • DevSecOps: CI/CD pipelines, shift-left strategies, and security tooling.
  • Container Security: Docker frameworks, orchestration, and scanning.
  • SOC: Security operations, incident response, threat hunting, and malware analysis.
  • Web Application Security: Best practices for WebApp DevSecOps and OWASP Top 10 scanning.
  • Understanding of GRC strategies, threat intelligence, SIEMs, XDR, and ICS/OT security.
  • Relevant industry certifications: CISSP, CEH, CCNP, or public cloud architect certifications.

  • Strong communication, presentation, and organizational abilities.
  • Self-starter with a “can-do” attitude and passion for technology-driven solutions.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in partner enablement and technical sales activities.
