The Opportunity

To achieve our ambitious goals, we’re looking for a Sr. Paid Search Manager to join our Paid Acquisition team. This role will own the strategic vision, execution, and growth of Grammarly’s Paid Search program—one of the largest SaaS search advertisers across Google and Microsoft. This individual will be responsible for scaling and optimizing campaigns to efficiently drive New Active Users and improve LTV/CAC, while collaborating with a team of performance marketers and cross-functional members.

This role combines high-level strategy with hands-on execution and is ideal for someone who enjoys driving growth through experimentation, precision targeting, and iterative improvement. The manager will lead full-funnel initiatives, champion rigorous testing, and ensure the program evolves with the rapidly changing AI and search landscape.

As a Sr. Paid Search Manager, you'll lead strategic optimization of our mature, high-scale paid search program, designing advanced experimentation frameworks to unlock incremental gains while managing risk and brand safety. This role requires balancing strategic vision with hands-on execution, structuring clear processes to prioritize high-volume testing, and maintaining accountability across cross-functional partnerships.

You'll own a substantial budget with direct business impact, driving the strategic roadmap for a high-impact performance marketing team. This position offers exceptional growth opportunities, including partnerships with leading vendors and platforms to beta test cutting-edge ad products, deepening expertise in LTV modeling and predictive bidding, and the chance to influence strategy at both channel and business levels as Grammarly scales in the AI space.

In this role you will be:

  • Defining and executing long-term paid search strategy and annual planning
  • Managing performance across Google Ads and Microsoft Ads with an eye toward LTV-driven growth
  • Leading high-impact experimentation on bidding  models (e.g., LTV bidding, offline conversions, MTA), campaign structures, creative messaging, landing pages, and audience segmentation
  • Driving efficiencies and campaign hygiene through tasks such as LP health, creative QA, negative keyword audits, and automation oversight to ensure brand safety
  • Identifying growth opportunities through account expansion, integrations, tooling, new product adoption, and keeping up with the ever-changing landscape of search
  • Partnering with Product Marketing, Data Science, Growth Ops, SEO, Analytics and Product to align on goals and integrate insights into campaign planning
  • Developing and mentoring a Paid Search Strategist to increase testing velocity, operational excellence, and impact
  • Maintaining strong relationships with Google and Microsoft to unlock early access to new features and platform insights
  • Supporting major product launches and seasonal promotions through full-funnel campaign planning and execution
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in Paid Search
  • Proven success leading experiments across bidding strategies, audience segmentation, and ad creative
  • Strong grasp of performance KPIs—especially LTV:CAC, incrementality, ROAS, and CPA
  • Experience building forecasts, channel plans, and budgeting for 7-figure+ spend
  • Experience measuring test impact (e.g., A/B tests, holdouts, model-driven results)
  • Comfort with tools like Google Ads Editor, SA360, Databricks, Optimizely, Sheets/Excel, and basic SQL or experimentation platforms
  • Has a demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal guidance, proactively manages tasks and priorities across multiple projects, analyzes and executes work efficiently, collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams, and thrives in fast-paced, results-driven environments.
  • Embodies our EAGER values—is ethical, adaptable, gritty, empathetic, and remarkable.
  • Is inspired by our MOVE principles: move fast and learn faster; obsess about creating customer value; value impact over activity; and embrace healthy disagreement rooted in trust.
