Sr. Operator

Avantor is looking for an experienced and knowledgeable Sr. Operator to optimize our Dry Department, delivering results against some of the most complex business and technology initiatives. 

This role will be a full-time position based out of our Paris, KY facility. You will have the opportunity to perform manufacturing and packaging operations in accordance with written production records and applicable GMP requirements to ensure accuracy, safety, and compliance while maintaining high quality standards and supporting continuous improvement activities. Physical and Work Environment Requirements

• • Education: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience: 3+ years in manufacutring or packaging operations
    • Experience in cGMP manufacturing environment.
    • Knowledge of computer applications (Microsoft word, Excel).
    • Ability to perform SAP functions.
    • Knowledge of Regulated and Non-Regulated materials.
    • Understanding of chemical processes from start to finish.
    • Ability to evaluate internal customer needs and respond with appropriate action.
  • Associate degree preferred 
  • Perform packaging assembly of stations per batch records, work instructions, and standard work.
  • Ensure all production activities comply with applicable quality, safety, and GMP standards.
  • Maintain production records to comply with ISO 9001:2015, SOPs, and work instruction requirements.
  • Verify materials and ensure batches are correct and conform to specifications.
  • Maintain equipment in proper operating condition by following daily maintenance and cleaning schedules.
  • Ensure products meet cleaning requirements prior to entry into the department.
  • Perform scale checks before the start of the shift to ensure fill weight accuracy.
  • Review and recommend changes to technical documentation.
  • Ensure accurate completion and compliance of documentation.
  • Perform line clearance verifications per company standards.
  • Follow proper PPE requirements and ensure controlled environments are maintained.
  • Monitor and report safety incidents or potential hazards immediately.
  • Ensure adherence to regulated material handling, sampling, and transfer procedures.
  • Continuous Improvement and Leadership
  • Assist with daily production scheduling and room availability.
  • Provide back-up leadership within the Dry Department.
  • Support initiatives for process improvement and business optimization.
  • Lead or participate in projects related to process improvement.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with process control systems, calibration, and data collection methods.
  • Highly organized and capable of working independently or within a team.
