Job Summary

The Senior New Business Developer for Speedpay is responsible for prospecting, developing, and closing net new logo opportunities for ACI’s bill payment solutions within the Utilities segment in the Western US. This role operates includes ownership of complex opportunities, deeper customer engagement, and greater accountability for territory strategy and pipeline quality.

The Senior New Business Developer builds trusted relationships with prospective customers, understands their business and technology needs, and positions ACI’s products and services to create meaningful customer value. The role requires a strong self-starter mindset, the ability to originate opportunities from scratch, and effective collaboration with cross-functional ACI teams to drive opportunities through to close.

The Senior New Business Developer is accountable for achieving individual sales quota targets, maintaining accurate CRM records, and providing reliable forecasts and updates to sales leadership.

Job Responsibilities

- Identify and establish net new logo opportunities within the Western US for Tier 1 and Tier 2 utilities companies and municipalities, achieving individual annual sales quota targets.

- Own and manage prospect territory, establishing and maintaining ACI’s overall relationship with prospective customers, with emphasis on developing effective relationships with key decision makers and senior stakeholders.

- Act as the primary point of contact and relationship owner for assigned prospects, coordinating and mobilizing appropriate cross-functional ACI resources to advance sales opportunities.

- Develop and execute territory and account strategies to create, qualify, and progress opportunities that align customer needs with ACI’s solution portfolio.

- Demonstrate a strong understanding of customer business models, operational challenges, and technology requirements, particularly within the payments and financial services ecosystem.

- Identify opportunities to introduce and expand ACI’s products and services with prospective customers, crafting compelling value propositions that address customer needs.

- Manage the end-to-end sales process, including opportunity qualification, proposal development, pricing, contract negotiation, order processing, and transition to post-sales support.

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM records, including account profiles, opportunity details, sales pipeline data, and customer organization charts, in accordance with ACI sales best practices.

- Perform ongoing due diligence on prospective customers, including review of industry trends, competitive landscape, financial performance, and organizational changes.

- Provide regular pipeline, forecast, and opportunity status updates to sales management, highlighting risks, challenges, and recommended next steps.

- Stay current on ACI products, enhancements, competitive offerings, and relevant industry trends to effectively position ACI’s value proposition.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Understand and adhere to all corporate policies, including but not limited to the ACI Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, and applicable risk management requirements.


Knowledge, Skills and Experience required for the job

- Bachelor’s degree or global equivalent, or equivalent relevant work experience.

- Minimum of 8 years of successful experience in new business development, direct sales, or a related role.


Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Experience needed for the job

- Strong understanding of enterprise software or payments solutions.
