You will play a key role in ensuring our infrastructure operates at peak performance, availability, and security to support our critical business needs.
Job Description:
The Sr Network Systems Analyst is responsible for implementing and supporting network solutions to meet business and customer requirements. This includes planning and deploying network hardware and software upgrades, managing Active Directory (AD) services, ensuring proper configuration of DNS services, and managing connectivity to cloud resources. Network Analyst designs and manages the server infrastructure, secure network traffic, integrates infrastructure components with cloud platforms, and ensures compliance with industry standards. Additionally, must implement and manage Storage Area Networks (SAN), deploy, and manage VMware hardware, perform hardware upkeep at the colocation site, and monitor network performance. The Network Analyst also oversees network security, conducts regular assessments and audits, troubleshoots, and resolves complex network issues, and supports capacity planning by analyzing current usage and forecasting future needs. Network Analysts maintain documentation, generate performance reports, collaborate with various teams and vendors, provide training and guidance, and ensure disaster recovery setups are in place and tested regularly. The role requires a combination of technical expertise, strategic planning, and collaboration to maintain a secure, reliable, and efficient network infrastructure.
Roles & Responsibilities
Network Implementation and Support
- Implement network solutions to meet customer and business requirements.
- Assist with planning new and proposed upgrades to the network.
- Deploy new network hardware and software to the Data Center environment at Tierpoint.
- Perform upgrades on servers, firewalls, load balancers, and network devices.
- Assist implementation of Active Directory (AD) services, including domain controllers and group policies.
- Ensure proper configuration and management of DNS services for the organization.
- Plan and execute upgrades and migrations of AD and DNS services as needed.
- Manage connectivity to cloud resources, ensuring secure and reliable integration.
Infrastructure Implementation
- Design, deploy, and manage server infrastructure for on-premises platform and operations.
- Install and upgrade servers and network appliances, such firewall, network switches and load balancing appliances at Tierpoint.
- Work closely with Arraya to secure network traffic and firewalls.
- Deploy and manage load balancers and work with engineers to ensure optimal distribution of network traffic.
- Integrate infrastructure components with cloud platforms to ensure seamless hybrid environments.
- Assist with planning and execute infrastructure upgrades and expansions to meet growing business needs.
- Ensure infrastructure components comply with industry standards and ensure software versions are supported.
- Coordinate with Hosting, DevOps, and Development teams to ensure infrastructure changes align with overall strategy.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to IBM AIX systems and collaborate with vendors for support and solutions.
Storage Management
- Implement and manage onsite Storage Area Networks (SAN) platform at Tierpoint.
- Monitor SAN performance and ensure data integrity.
- Perform SAN upgrades and expansions to meet data storage needs.
- Troubleshoot SAN-related issues and work with engineers to resolve issues.
- Ensure SAN security and compliance with data protection policies.
VMware and vCenter Management
- Deploy and manage VMware hardware, including ESXi hosts.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to VMware infrastructure.
- Configure and manage vCenter server for centralized management of VMware environments.
- Perform regular updates and maintenance of VMware hardware and software.
- Monitor and optimize the performance of virtual machines and hosts.
- Ensure high availability and redundancy in VMware environments.
- Assist Hosting, DevOps and Dev teams with VMware h/w requests.
Hardware Upkeep and Maintenance at Tierpoint
- Manage and maintain hardware within racks and cage at colocation site.
- Ensure proper power requirements and distribution for equipment.
- Monitor colocation updates to availability of resources at the site.
- Coordinate access to the cage for authorized personnel and vendors.
- Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on physical infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with colocation site policies and regulations.
- Address and resolve any issues related to physical hardware, power, and site access.
Network Performance Monitoring
- Monitor network performance to ensure smooth and reliable operation.
- Utilize network monitoring tools to identify and resolve issues.
- Track performance metrics for servers, firewalls, load balancers, and network devices.
- Monitor and manage VLAN performance for customer VLANs.
- Ensure optimal performance of Ethernet Private Links for Spokane and Berwyn offices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve EPL and VLAN-related issues.
- Ensure VLAN configurations align with network performance and security policies.
Network Security:
- Implement and manage network security measures.
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits.
- Ensure firewalls, load balancers, and other security devices are properly configured and updated.
- Work closely with Arraya for maintaining security and intrusion controls.
- Oversee the security of cloud connectivity to resources.
Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution:
- Diagnose and resolve complex network problems.
- Provide third-level support for network issues escalated by Volaris IT, Host and Dev Teams.
- Address issues related to servers, firewalls, load balancers, and network devices.
- Resolve connectivity issues with cloud services and resources.
Capacity Planning:
- Analyze current network usage and forecast future needs.
- Plan for network expansion and upgrades.
- Assess capacity requirements for servers, firewalls, load balancers, and network devices.
- Evaluate the capacity of cloud resources and plan accordingly.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain documentation of network configurations and changes.
- Generate regular reports on network performance and issues.
- Document configurations and changes for servers, firewalls, load balancers, and network devices.
- Keep records of cloud resource configurations and usage.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with other teams to ensure network reliability and performance.
- Collaborate with vendors and service providers for updates and patch requirements.
- Coordinate with cloud service providers to ensure seamless integration and operation.
- Provide guidance and training to IT Systems Administrator.
- Stay current with industry trends and technologies and share knowledge with the team.
- Share best practices for managing servers, firewalls, load balancers, and network devices.
Disaster Recovery:
- Maintain and support the offsite disaster recovery setup at Breinigsville.
- Regularly test and validate the offsite disaster recovery processes.
- Ensure offsite backups are up-to-date and accessible in case of an emergency.
- Work with team to integrate Azure cloud services into the disaster recovery strategy.
- Configure and manage Azure Site Recovery and backup services.
- Ensure seamless failover and failback capabilities between on-premises infrastructure and Azure.
- Monitor and optimize Azure-based disaster recovery solutions.
- Stay updated on Azure DR technologies and incorporate best practices into the disaster recovery plans.
