Astreya is looking for a Senior Network Deployment Engineer to join our multifaceted and results-oriented team. This is a highly visible role supporting an industry-leading technology company, where you will take on project responsibilities alongside escalated operational issues. If you have a strong foundation in routing, switching, and automation — with the ability to define and lead Enterprise Networking projects — this role is for you.
The Senior Network Deployment Engineer will design, plan, and drive complex network implementations across a large-scale, multi-vendor, international environment. You will work with teammates in a dynamic, growing organization and serve as a technical leader across both deployment projects and operational escalations.
Scope:
- Applies deep technical expertise and company policies to resolve a wide range of complex networking challenges.
- Works with significant independence and technical authority on senior-level projects.
- Provides mentorship and guidance to teammates; serves as a key escalation point during outages and critical events.
Your Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Design, plan, and coordinate the implementation of network technologies in support of business and growth requirements.
- Validate project requirements, define project scope, develop project schedules, and produce detailed network designs for assigned projects.
- Produce work breakdown structures (WBS) that demonstrate understanding of proposed changes and how they will be implemented with minimal service impact.
- Perform analysis and diagnosis of highly complex networking problems; build simulated networks in test labs to resolve significant issues and compatibility challenges.
- Plan and drive complex network upgrade and migration activity, including highly automated environments and quarterly maintenance events involving multiple coordinated changes with diverse stakeholders.
- Prepare and maintain up-to-date documentation detailing the configuration of deployed solutions; generate network configurations and run books.
- Provide mentorship and technical leadership to existing network team members and partner teams during outages and downtimes, where both technical and business communication skills are critical.
- Collaborate with vendors to manage circuit delivery, problem resolution, and network migrations.
- Other duties as required.
Required / Desired Skills
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of experience in a network engineering or network support environment.
- Proven experience in network operations and service optimization within highly available, multi-vendor, large-scale, multi-site, and international network infrastructure environments; some design experience is required.
- Strong working knowledge of WAN circuits and protocols: SR-TE, MPLS, DWDM, DMVPN, and SD-WAN.
- Hands-on expertise with dynamic IP routing protocols: OSPF, IS-IS, EIGRP, eBGP/BGP, and PIM Multicast.
- Diverse skills across network operating systems including Cumulus Linux, Cisco IOS, Arista EOS, and others.
- Experience with virtualization and overlay technologies — both networking (VxLAN, BGP-MP, VRFs) and compute (VMware, Kubernetes, Docker) — and their integration methods.
- High-level internetworking problem-solving skills in both enterprise and web-scale network environments.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills; ability to present effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to connect new technology initiatives to cost savings and return on investment calculations.
Preferred Qualifications
- CCIE or equivalent expert-level certification highly preferred.
- Experience with automation tools or scripting languages (Python, Ansible, Terraform, or similar).
- Demonstrated initiative and resourcefulness — able to achieve goals independently as well as collaboratively.
- Flexibility to adjust to changing requirements, schedules, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to build team consensus, socialize ideas, and move initiatives forward across cross-functional stakeholders.
