About our team
The Studio team at Okta is a growing group within Marketing, composed of creatives, strategists, producers and marketing managers alike. Our team’s focus is to lead the brand, tell powerful stories and inspire creative excellence.
As a partner to cross-functional teams across all of Okta, we tie our goals to our most important company initiatives, driving towards shared KPIs, strategies and processes to unify and push the brand and business forward.
About this role
When it comes to telling powerful stories, we believe in sharing the real stories of our customers and inspiring the world to imagine what their Identity can enable them to achieve. That’s where you come in. We are looking for a Sr. Motion Designer to explore and expand the possibilities of how our brand acts, behaves, and moves in 2D and 3D environments. You’ll be directly involved in pushing the bounds of our motion design system and how our teams utilize it to further the impact of the brand across a variety of different touchpoints.
As a Sr. Motion Designer, you’ll be:
- Expanding the visual language of our brand in all aspects of motion design (2D + 3D)
- Creating toolkits to empower our teams to extend that work across a variety of mediums
- Codifying those expanded efforts into our Motion Guidelines
- Partner with our Events and Experiences creative team to bring motion into all aspects of our events
What you will do
- Help further explore and establish the Motion Identity System (2D & 3D environments)
- Extend the motion language and applicable executions of our logomark (the Aura)
- Build internal toolkits and templates to enable our internal teams to extend and execute on the explorative work
- Help document and codify the work alongside the existing Motion Guidelines
- Bring motion to life for events
- Execute and deliver production ready files for use in web, social, broadcast, and events
What experience you have
- 3+ years developing 3D + 2D motion graphics for larger scale teams
- Proven ability to develop accessible templates (After Effects, Cinema 4D, or related platform)
- Proven ability to work towards an established goal with little oversight needed
- Excellent communication + collaboration skills
- Proven experience working with internal creative teams
- Experience in documenting and codifying language and guidance for overall systems
- BA/BS degree
