About the Role:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Mobile UX Designer with a demonstrable experience of designing iOS applications to join our team in Houston, TX. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated individual who is eager to contribute to innovative projects and drive user-centered design solutions. We require a candidate at this level to have strong interpersonal and listening skills, critical thinking with a business aptitude, and the ability to handle multiple tasks while iterating quickly. You will collaborate daily with a diverse set of specialists, including web designers, solution engineers, project managers, business stakeholders and developers to deliver engaging digital experiences.
This is an on-site position for a role based in Downtown Houston, Texas.
Responsibilities:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in UX design
- Experience with large cross-functional teams
- Experience designing for large, complex, digital application projects
- Understanding of iOS Human Interface Guidelines
- Fluency with iOS design language
- Experience working with iOS developers
- Proficiency in designing and prototyping in Figma
- Strong typographic and data visualization skills
- Strong communication skills
- BFA in Design or a related field preferred
- Must work from Downtown Houston location 5 days per week
- Background in the Oil & Gas industry is a plus, but not required
Requirements:
- Work as part of an interdisciplinary team to design intuitive, usable, and engaging mobile experiences.
- Gather requirements and analyze data to inform design decisions.
- Quickly iterate on design solutions based on feedback and changing requirements, ensuring the final product meets user needs and business goals.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that effectively communicate design concepts and solutions.
- Work closely with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to ensure a cohesive and user-centered design approach.
- Ability to travel (~once/month) with team as needed, depending on project requirements.
- Plan and conduct usability tests to gather feedback on design iterations and refine solutions based on user feedback.
- Create and maintain design documentation and specification to hand off to development team.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior designers, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented design team.
