Purpose Statement:   The role involves ensuring efficient production operations, driving continuous improvement, leading and developing the production team, and championing a culture of customer service excellence and compliance.

Key Job Accountabilities:

  • Ensure Efficient and Effective Production Operations: Achieved by overseeing all aspects of the production process to meet or exceed production targets, quality standards, and delivery schedules. Success requires managing resources and metrics (OTD, scrap reduction, yield, productivity, and labor planning), optimizing workflows, implementing process improvements, and ensuring adherence to safety regulations and operational procedures.

  • Drive Continuous Improvement and Problem Solving: Realized through proactively identifying areas for improvement in production efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality. Success is attained by analyzing production data, implementing lean manufacturing principles, leading problem-solving initiatives, and collaborating with other departments (e.g., engineering, materials, quality) to implement sustainable solutions.

  • Lead and Develop the Production Team: Accomplished by building, managing, and developing a high-performing production team. Success is marked by setting clear expectations, providing coaching and feedback, conducting performance evaluations, identifying training needs, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment, and ensuring adequate staffing levels to meet production demands.

  • Champion a culture of customer service excellence, customer requirements, and Plexus standards: Established by leading and driving thorough Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) processes for team-related defects and rejects, emphasizing the "why made" to prevent recurrence. Additionally, success necessitates ensuring ongoing compliance with Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) guidelines and workplace health and safety regulations.

  • Responsible to exemplify and hold their team accountable to demonstrating the Plexus Core Values. Leader will focus on evaluating potential, driving succession planning, and ensuring their employees receive the development and coaching required to realize their full potential.

Education/Experience Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 - 10+ years of experience in the related field, or a Master’s degree and at least 5 years of experience in the related field. Previous experience in a management role is required.

Physical Requirements:  

  • Standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 lbs frequently, as well as sustained mental activity and frequent task changes.

Travel Requirements:  

  • Less than 40%
