Job Overview
The Senior Manager, Product & Pipeline Communications is responsible for leading strategic communications for the Spine, Sports, and Craniomaxillofacial (CMF) portfolios. This role shapes how innovation, product strategy, and pipeline progress are communicated across internal and external audiences, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with business priorities.
This position plays a critical role in supporting product launches, advancing pipeline visibility, and strengthening franchise credibility by translating complex clinical and technical information into clear, compelling communications that drive understanding and engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development and execution of product and pipeline communication strategies for the Spine, Sports, and CMF franchises.
Partner with franchise leadership, R&D, marketing, and corporate communications to align messaging with business objectives and portfolio strategy.
Develop core narratives, messaging frameworks, and communication plans supporting product launches, pipeline milestones, and innovation updates.
Oversee creation of communication materials including presentations, talking points, FAQs, internal toolkits, and executive briefings.
Ensure all communications are accurate, compliant, and aligned with regulatory, legal, and brand standards.
Act as a strategic communications advisor to senior leaders, proactively identifying opportunities and risks.
Manage external agencies and vendors to deliver high‑quality communications on time and within budget.
Measure and optimize communications effectiveness using feedback, insights, and performance metrics.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required (Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Life Sciences, or related field).
Master’s degree preferred (Communications, Marketing, Business, or related discipline).
Experience and Skills
Required:
Typically requires 8–10 years of progressive experience in communications, product communications, or corporate communications within healthcare, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or a regulated industry.
Demonstrated experience supporting complex product portfolios and senior‑level stakeholders.
Experience partnering with legal, regulatory, and compliance teams.
Preferred:
Experience supporting orthopedic, spine, sports medicine, or CMF medical device portfolios.
Experience with global or regional product launches and pipeline communications.
Agency management experience.
Experience working in large, complex organizations.
Change or transformation communications experience.
Strong ability to translate scientific, clinical, or technical content into clear, audience‑appropriate messaging.
Excellent written, verbal, and strategic communication skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast‑paced, matrixed environment.
